  1. What is surprising to me, is this one was used overseas during WW2, then given to the Netherlands, and used till 92. Then came back to the US. According to the build card, it still has the original engine in it, and it needs to be rebuilt. I have low pressure on 2 cylinders. 4 run about 110psi, and the other 2 are about 87psi. And it still runs great. I plan on rebuilding it during next winter. Last winter, I replaced the floor, the seals on the transfer case, and the wire harness.
  2. Well, I have to be honest..... Mine was built in July 43, so it should have the bed, where you can not get in from the drivers side. But this one was used overseas, and given to the Netherlands, and can back to the US in 92. Sometime during the war, or when it was used post war, somebody put the bed on it that has the shorter drive side storage box on it. It makes getting in much easier, so I have not put it back to the way it was built......
  3. Well, I went out yesterday and started getting the WC63 ready for a Military show coming up this weekend. I keep a floating charger on it, keep the tank filled, and use Marine / Ethanol gas treatment. Pulled the choke all the way out, set the throttle cable about 1/3 of the way out, turn the key on and pushed the foot starter, and the old thing started right up. I pushed the choke in, and the throttle in, and let it run for a couple minutes, it set and idled smooth. That was after it setting since Nov. 6th. Very please with it. I hope the rest of the year goes as well......
  4. I said years ago that they are coming. No speeding, no darting in and out of traffic, no running red lights or stop signs, no road rage......etc..... Go watch Demolition Man....
  5. I'm 63, and the years my kids were young, I could not ever afford a vehicle, so I purchased Military weapons for a couple hundred bucks. And I restored a M20 for a local Museum and kept it up, and took it to shows. Once the kids got to where every penny was not going to support them, I sold all my guns and bought my 1st vehicle. Do what you can afford. Over here, when someone see's a big green army truck, they think it belongs to the Government. So it's there's. If some one ask if they can put their kid in the seat, I tell they them, "As long as they do not touch anything, other than the steering wheel." That is a safety issue, and no climbing in the back for the same reason. I have learned just because some one was in the Military that it does not mean they are right, or remember things correctly. Also agree with the heat..... We have one show we go to every year that was a B17 training base here in Tennessee, and it is in August, which is the hottest time of our year. Then they have us set up on the tarmac. It usually is around 100 degrees, and the highest was 109. So I know you are correct in that.
  6. Agree with the above statement. When a radiator sets, the passages will get stopped up with trash as it dries out. Take it to a radiator shop, to be checked. If it is stopped up, they should be able to rod it out.
  7. 5 buy a ex military vehicle , tow it to show on a trailer , unload it , stand by it , reload it go home But I bring a 3"/76mm , a 57mm, and a 37mm. And a 1945 Willys Jeep, and a 1943 WC63. So it goes on a 53' lowboy trailer, and a 20' car hauler trailer. And since I can can not be everywhere at once, I have signs at each item describing the item, on display. Normally, the 3" is on the nose of the Lowboy, and the Jeep and 37mm is on the 20' car hauler trailer behind my pickup truck.
  8. You need a thermostat, as it slows the flow of water down, where when it is flowing through the radiator, it stays there long enough to cool off. Also a warm engine has less wear than a cold engine. It fits in the tp of the engine, then that piece gees over it.
  9. You are correct that the Chrysler Museum is closed. But they say that after the 1st of next year they will start issuing the build cards again, but don't hold your breath. I hope I'm wrong. If you'll send me a PM with your email address I'll send you the forms in a PDF file that I got from them when I got my build card.
  10. I teach guys to work on forklifts, and I can not believe how few even know what one is let alone how to read one. I learned to use one as a kid to set timing. I could not afford a timing light. They will tell you most anything there is to know. From exhaust being stopped up to valves sticking.
  11. Wonder if I can get one for my WC63....... Mopar Offering Hemi Swap Kits for Classic Chrysler Cars and Trucks Mopar is offering the Hemi swap kits for both the 5.7-liter and the 6.4-liter V-8s. The package is designed to make it easy for customizers to jam the engines into pre-1975 Chrysler products, such as Dodges, Jeeps, and Plymouths. FCA showed off the 5.7-liter V-8 swap kit in the Jeep CJ66 concept at the SEMA show in Las Vegas this week. The kit, which includes oxygen and temperature sensors, an unlocked ECU, a power distribution system, and a bunch of other goodies designed to ease the complicated process of sliding a 21st Century engine into a 20th Century platform. And at $1,795, it’s surprisingly cheap. But keep in mind, that doesn’t include the new engine. Sadly, there’s no Hellcat swap kit offered yet. But who knows what tomorrow will bring?
  12. I'm in the US and deal with either Midwest Military, or Vintage Power Wagon. I have sold through eBay since 1998 and just finally stopped selling over seas. I will not ship if I can't track the item, and you can not track it unless it is shipped Priority, FedEx, or UPS which all are very expensive. I just shipped a gent on this board 10 fuse tubes, for free, but it cost me 68.00 bucks to get them to him. I had a guy in France said he never received a item I sold him on eBay. I showed eBay, and PayPal where I shipped it, and the tracking where it left the US, and told them that was the best I could do. He needed to take it up with his local Postal People. Now eBay has a deal where they will handle overseas shipping, for you. You ship it to them, after it sells, and they handle everything. BUT a couple months ago I sold a M20 armored car Zenith Carb to a guy, eBay shipped it, Customs there kept it, he left me negative feedback. I went off on eBay told them, they handled shipping, not me, and I wanted the negative removed. They deleted the negative feedback. Sometimes selling over there/here for you, is just not worth the trouble....
  13. Your reopening article was May of this year. I posted what was on employees Facebook page yesterday.
  14. Chrysler is closing the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Dec. If you want a build card, better get it now. May not be available any more.... If anybody needs the forms email me, and I send you a PDF set of forms. This was posted on Facebook today.... Chrysler Employee Motorsport Association 7 hrs · .. It is my sad duty to announce that the Walter P Chrysler Museum will be permanently closed on December 18, 2016. At that time, the building will be re-purposed as office space. Additional details will follow.
  15. It needs to be fixed, but IF you keep a close eye on it, and keep it filled, you should be finish the season with it. To fix it, you'll have to pull the engine down. If you go that far, you might as well go ahead and totally rebuild it, and be done with it. You can do it. I over hauled my 1st car engine when I was 10. With my Dad setting there just watching me, and answering questions I asked him. If I can do it, anybody can......
  16. Your gonna have to fix it sooner or later. Put up with it by adding oil as needed, and park on a drip pan when you can. Change it out during the winter, when no shows are goin on.
  17. Just do like me, I do not EVEN own canvas for my WC63...... I dive it like GOD intended...... :nut:
  18. Kinda looks like a M31, or a M25. The M31 was a Jeep mount, and the M25 was a early halftrack mount.
  19. After looking closer at the photo, it looks like one somebody just put in, as the pedestal is on the wrong side of the front bed. The one made for theses the pedestal is on the other side of the bed, in between the seats.
  20. Well, I got the surge tank mounted, and the oil can & bracket mounted. I have to paint the bolt heads, and washers... Now I'll have to get some tubing and make up the run to the radiator. Does anybody have one they'll sell, or know if Midwest, or VPW makes a repo one?
