  1. I used a 5 gallon portable outboard engine boat tank on a M20 as it had a bad 55 gallon tank. It has a quick disconnect, plus a primmer bulb, that makes it easy on the fuel pump when changing the tank. Plus you can drain it in to your car and leave the can empty, then you will also have fresh gas.
  2. Just walk away for a couple days, then work it out. When I was just a young pup (19 I'm 61 now) and was doing a in frame rebuild, I was putting the starter back on and spent over 2 hrs trying to get the 1st bolt back in. finally gave up, went in the house and went to bed. I had tried every trick in the book but would not start in. Came back out the next morning, and had it mounted in less than 10 minutes. Sometimes walking a way for a bit is the best thing you can do.
  3. Talked with John today. He does not have them, but Vintage Power Wagons does, and it is now on the way. Thanks
  4. Yea, John and I are on a 1st name basis. I talked with him at the MVPA Convention couple weeks ago. I looked at his website, and Vintage Power Wagon, and neither one showed it. I'll give him a call Monday. Thanks
  5. I need the tailgate chain bracket for a WC63. The piece I need locks the LH side of the tailgate up. Anybody have one these brackets? Or any idea where to get one? Thanks
  6. I need the canvas, and pad that covers the traversing arm assembly, on a US 57MM M1 anti tank gun. Does anybody have one, or know where to get one, or have one made.

  8. I'm sorry, I do not know HOW I read Jeep as Dodge........:red:
  9. You can go to the Chrysler Historical Services here.... http://www.fcanorthamerica.com/company/Heritage/Pages/Historical-Services.aspx Send them 25 bucks, and they will send you the build card. No military history, but a starting point. Here is what one looks like....
  10. The leader that was loading to was supposed to be opening and closing the tailgate.... Best laid plans of mice and men..... and all that......:-(
  11. It was a cold and snow was falling, when we loaded up and headed to the Boy Scout 2015 Boot Comporee. BUT it was well worth it. We carried a 37mm, 57mm and 3” anti-tank guns, a 45 Willis Jeep, and a Dodge 43 WC63 down. There was apx 200 Boy Scouts there. After we got set up, around 10 I started giving rides. I stopped about 12 to get lunch, and when we walked out of the mess hall, the WC had a full load setting in the back waiting, on us. As soon as I got back and MADE them get off, another group was waiting to get on. The WC was run harder that it has since Norway had it in full service. I ran it for about 5 hours straight, just stopping to go to the little boy’s room and to eat. I burned over 25 gallons or gas running it on very muddy wet roads. I did not have one problem on the WC. It ran great. I loved every cold minute of it, and the kids loved it. AND that is the main thing. If you look at the average age of our average collector, if we do not get the kids interested in our hobby, there will not be a hobby in another 20 years. Check with your local Boy Scout Troop and get involved. You’ll find it will be worth your time. Video
  12. Thank you. Yes, I need the bracket and flap that mounts on the end ofthe sight. I have the cable ass'y. Just let meknow what I owe you.
  13. I need the shutter ass'y for the 57mm/ 6lb early sight ass"y. Anybody got one they'll sell or late me borrow/rent to have one made? Thanks
  14. They cut the tire open, no foam, but they removed all the bolts out of the ring and can not get it off. It is locked on for some reason, rust or something.
  15. He tried that one time. Fire Dept showed up, put it out, and wrote him a ticket......
  16. Well, it is a restorer. They had to do this to a 37mm tire and it took 2 guys over a day to cut the tire off of the 37mm rim. He says the 3" tire and rim weighs over 200 lbs, so he is figuring 2 to 3 guys to handle it and 2 days labor. Adds up quick. He's a good guy, but it is a business and he has to make money. He is doing the tires by the hour, but the grand was for both tires, new tires, new tubes, and having the local farm tractor company mounting the new tires on, which gave him a price of 165.00 for that. They refused to touch the tires on there at all.
  17. I have a M5 3" anti tank gun being restored. I want to put new tires on it but the tires are foam filled, and the tires will have to be cut off. This will be VERY expensive to do. Like a grand. So I thought I'd just replace the rims, but not sure what they used. Here is a shot of the rim. Is this a CCKW rim? Thanks
  18. Does ANYBODY know what rims were used on the 3" anti tank gun? I want to put new military ND tires on mine. I have one ND and one street tires on it now. They are both foam filled and will have to be cut off a piece at a time. The cost for that is rather high. Any information is appreciated.
  19. Here is a couple of shots on the repo breech I had made for my 57mm..... He did a really good job on it....
