  1. Just back from another fantastic event, all credit to all involved in it's organisation For those who missed it make a note for next year this is one that will grow and grow. Fantastic atmosphere, great location and a friendly welcome from the locals.
  2. Hello Paul welcome to the HMVF - Dave & Helen ( Mid Lincs MVT)
  3. Welcome to the HMVF, Bedford MK ? I took my class three in one of those in Germany a great truck like you it's on my wish list
  4. Hi Don, There are strict regulations regarding size and spacing on number plates in this country but I think as long as you don't space them too far apart or alter them to make a word you should be ok That said each traffic cop is different and there will always be one who applies the law to the letter. I have normal correct size/spaced number plates on both my jeep and Chevy cargo but they are magnetic, once I arrive at a show I take them off and leave the unit markings on show, just don't forget to refit them before you leave
  5. While serving with the Royal Artillery in Germany I was sent to collect a Bedford MK from another unit in Dortmund, halfway back to camp the front propshaft fell off at 65kph on the autobahn it actually dug into the road and lifted the back of the truck off the ground  I nearly went through the screen and the prop and gearbox were destroyed. Turns out NONE of the remaining propshaft bolts were tight either, I bet some REME fitter had some explaining to do later Caused chaos on the autobahn too !
  6. Hi Brian, I will sort some out and get my wife the computer expert to send you some if that's ok ? I've been busy today refitting the troop seats to the rear as we are at a 40's event this weekend. The number on the frame of mine is on the frame rail behind the right front wheel (ie. passenger side). Best Wishes, Dave.
  7. Welcome to the HMVF from a G-7107 owner in Lincolnshire, England. Some people say Chevrolet G506's were not stamped with frame numbers during the war but I am unsure if that is strictly true or if it is just damaged vehicles that were rebuilt on a new factory chassis ? My truck appears very original but the only number I have found on my chassis does not seem to follow the factories normal numbering code :undecided: Good luck with the truck and keep the pictures coming
  8. Like Chris says your post is a little confusing, if the main pump tank is leaking was it drained completely during winter as if this isn't done the frost can do untold damage. If you mean you are losing engine coolant and it is mixing with the engine oil then again you could either have a head gasket problem or a cracked block again something that can happen over winter if not enough anti freeze is added. Try and find out which problem you have and someone on here will surely be able to advise a solution. Good Luck.
  9. Welcome to the HMVF, any vehicles to tell us about ?
