  6. I do not normally collect things on commonwealth vehicles but this is a new addition there three of these on the 30 cwt wireless chev dated 1948 on hard card board they are 44cmx 35cm and still have the acid free paper attached
  7. the cleaning out goes on these came to light the BOARHOUND that was trialed at WVEE l believe it's the one at BOVINGTON there are quite a few on armoured vehicles in the files
  8. SALES catalogues did not generally give model type only manufacturer and the question as l understood was about VELOCETTE'S
  9. Andy this is what l have found between 1945 and 1949 the following VELOCETTE's all listed as 350cc and out of sales of twenty thousand vehicles of all types one's with wartime census numbers two 4322657 sold for seventy pound 4322914 instructional velo sixty five pounds cannot have much cut the following are all with civilian numbers FTF 176 all the following ENP 653/887/233/662/855/883/861 /661 CAW 925/CUX344/JNU399/ EWU/383 /FTE669/668/443/362. checking those motorcycles declared wrecks and sold as lots there are a number listed As said the BSA/NORTON/MATCHLESS/ARIEL/ JAMES/ TRIUMPHS and AMERICIAN made ones out number the VELOCTTE'S A quick check of post 49 catalogues shows and is showing the abundance BSA and others again the number2 key cards look like the result may show a lack of VELOCETTE'S l will look further and let you know wally /

  11. ADRIAN THANK YOU for that it's the first time l have seen graffiti on vehicle on a FVRDE photograph wally
  12. l wish him every luck l have been doing it for thirty years and still do not know all the answers and in the past replied to his request for help
  13. yes two stroke engine did have a few problems in the trials with the injection pump
  14. on this subject you will find more questions than answers as RICHARD as said it is not straight forward
  15. just wonder on the rear tail door it looks like written the word suicide
  16. if it is the series one then it came from beverley pity other NAM
  17. Some times l come across a trial that you wonder why in this case they a took a lorry designed for use on tarmac road and then subject it to a trial on a rough off the road course for over five thousand miles then produce a report of over two pages of defects all caused by the treatment on the course
  18. As l have mentioned else were on the forum l am getting rid of documents that l have more than one of while going through the boxes l came a cross a file on the AUSTIN GIPSY it's one l had long forgotten about its from the trials at FVRDE in it is alist of GIPSY's and it shows twenty three were used not as some would believe just twenty attach a copy its to large for A4 with some not shown
  19. l Do not know if this helps you but had to visit LECONFIELD and while there got a look at one of the WOLFs it was all kitted up large bungee nsn 1015-99-968-9812 7feet6inches un stretched standard bungee cm9359-155 maximum stretch 4feet 6inches PS was told they are not known as bungees but elastic cord well that was me told
  20. MARK l have read all that l have on class 30 and cannot find any mention of the STALWART there is no drawing of the suggestion of it's even as a mockup as to your other question l have looked a both 16mm films and cannot see any thing other than the beast the one you are interested in may have been for the civilian market so l wont have anything on it unless it was trialed at FVRDE/MEXE
  21. On this one l know l have collected all the documents parts list modifications line drawings and manual
  22. MARK the story as far as the list of things connected to the role of the STALWART in the army is concerned But you never know what may turn up l learnt never say never were the military is involved As to the skid plate if you pm me with your address l will copy it and send it as to your pm it looks familiar but is it on a film of the early day's of development l cannot recall will have to rerun it to night wally
  23. To day we had a dusting of snow and below freezing so a good time to get rid of some the things that l have to many of like CES's and other paper work that l have collected over the years and now have found missing items to complete the files on like the class 30 and the last part of the stalwart story
  24. RICHARD the thought also crossed my mind but if that was the case l think there would have been other examples of SA armoured vehicles and most lists of vehicle abbreviation would have had it included SP is listed as special project and is found on prototypes
  25. As most know my main interest is soft skins and on the subject l had only once come across the SP ones So as some one who does not like puzzles l contacted johathan holt at the archive at bovington who said just that he did not give a date or a reason for the change so it must have been after 49/50
