  1. Hi again, I am about to put some new fan belts on which came with my ferret but they seem to small. They have a I.D. tag on them with LV10 FV.144503 2F.2813 Belts Driving Qty 1 Pair. Can anyone tell if these are the correct set for this ferret which is a Mk2/5 B60 lump. Many thanks Steve.
  2. Thanks for the reply's chaps. I knew you would come good. This is one hell of a forum for information on MV's. Once again thanks. Steve.
  3. Hi all, can anyone tell me what the size (Dia.) and thread of the drain plugs on the fuel tank in a Mk1 ferret please. Both of mine are missing. Cheers Steve.
  4. Well as always it's making a start that counts and keeping it going. So long as the parts are easy to obtain and the old enthusiasm is still there after you have a few set backs, which always happens. Good luck and hope to see the finished article next week lol. All the best Steve.

  6. Hi Carey, welcome to the forum. Well with your impressive list of vehicles your have just got to show us some pictures. Sounds like you and the wife are very busy with your restorations. I am impressed to think that your wife is that interested in the restorations with you, mine just looks at me with a blank expression when I say I'm just popping out to do a bit more on my ferret. I like to think deep down she really is as exited as me as it is getting to the point of trying to start her up. That means the ferret, not the wife lol. All the best Steve.

  10. Well I have since found out from a very reliable source that this is the remains of a WW1 German 'Butcher Blade' been cut down along with it's scabbard. There are the remains of the number 17 on the back top of the blade along with the crown indicating 1917. This was most likely a cut down, made into a field fighting knife. I am trying to up load the photos that were sent to me showing this to be true but can not copy and paste for some reason. Will see if I can sauce the original photos. Cheers Steve.
  11. Managed to get a few more taken though my jewellers loop and IPhone, come out quite well. Sorry for the way the pic's have come out. Not sure how they ended up this way round.
  12. Hi, has anyone got an idea as to what this bayonet is please. Can not make out what is on the blade but the scabbard has 'Mauser' I think on it. Trouble is I have tried one of my K98's in the scabbard and there too long. Has this been cut down? Cheers Steve.

  15. Hi Paul, welcome to the forum. Won't be long before you get really hooked and buy your first vehicle. I ended buying a Mk1 ferret. all the best Steve.
  16. Looks a nice sword, but you may have lowered the value now buy trying to clean it. A lot of collectors including myself like the untouched article, or as was in its natural state as found. Has the blade any detailing/etching on it. The value, without seeing it in the flesh as they say, should still be anything from £50 to £70 may be a little more. If it had been in a little better condition with its scabbard, could of got about £160 odd for it, That's what I paid for my last one which looks similar to yours. Regards Steve.
  17. Hi Mike welcome to the forum. That looks like a very nice jeep, is it yours? Steve.

  24. Too true, but I think I would be supping something a little stronger lol. It's still the festive season until Monday, well it is as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure the shed builders will be requiring some refreshments of the alcoholic nature.
