  1. Hi Richard, I was referring to the fact that didn't the organiser from last year end up with a prison sentence with regards to Tax Fraud.
  2. Does everyone think that W&P will still go ahead next year.
  3. Hi Peter, If you do manage to find them can I have first refusal on them. Let me know how much you want for them. Cheers Steve.
  4. It would be just for a ride out. My late Mother in Law used to date a young airman who was stationed there during 1944 to 45. That's the reason the WC51 is badged up to the bomb group. There is a guy who I have been in contact with, from their site on Facebook who has helped in trying to find out who he was. He said he would like to meet up over there as he has a WW2 jeep which is dedicated to the BG and said he has found loads of 50cal. shells and stuff which he would share with me if I wanted any. I have only just got into WW2 vehicles as I have already got a military land rover 109 and a very early Mk1 Armoured Ferret Scout Car.
  5. Sounds a good site. I notice that your in Hertfordshire, have you been to the 398th Bomb Group airfield at Nuthamstead? I am a member on their site on Facebook and am planning on going over there with my Dodge as it's badged up to the 398th BG 603sq. Are you anywhere near there?.
  6. Thanks Alan will have a look at that one. I don't have any issues at the moment but want to be ready if anything happens. It's just been to a couple of remembrance services this weekend and will now be laid up for the winter but would like to get to know the basics of the WC51 with regards to the servicing of it. Only had it 2 weeks and know nothing about them.
  7. Has anyone got a spare or know where I can obtain a paper copy of a Dodge manual for the WC51. Cheers Steve.
  8. Hi Deryck how's it going. Yes I have tried a couple of companies in this country but as you say, all out of stock. BTW how did you get on with your jeep gearbox trouble, not to much of a position I hope. Regards Steve.
  9. Yep, got a refund through PayPal yesterday all sorted.
  10. This is the only part I seem to be able to copy and paste. Google the site and see what you think.
  11. Hi all, has anyone had any dealings with a company called 'Northwest Military Vehicles' in the USA. I need a set of side/wing mirrors for my dodge and found some on this site. I have paid for them through PayPal a few weeks ago but have not even received an email to say payment received or that they are being dispatched, nothing. Have tried to contact them by email, no response. I have now raised a complaint through PayPal hoping they can get some sort of answer from them. So back to my question, has anyone on here dealt with this company. Regards Steve.
  12. Mk1 ferret for sale. Nice early model 1951 with the square side hatches. Hull number 119. Upgraded to a Mk2/5. 100% complete but need a tweek here and there. All internal and external bins present but not fitted. Fuel tank out to clean and overhaul fuel pump. Running out of a jerry can at the moment. Have a new set of flexi brake pipes to put on, master cyl. has been re-sleeved in stainless. Spare engine with it but is stuck due to not using, not difficult to remedy. Apart from above just needs a coat of paint. Selling due to a new venture coming on the seen. Will try to take some photo's of her tomorrow. Looking at £7500 for her.
  13. Hi Jim, might want to give Mark Howles a call. He is one hell of a guy you couldn't wish to meet a nicer bloke, he transported my ferret from Gatwick to Newmarket in Suffolk and we have become very good friends ever since I've PM you his number. Good luck Steve.
  14. Thanks Deryck and a real pleasure speaking to you today. Good luck with the jeep. Kind regards Steve.
  15. Anyone know where I can obtain a set of canvas winter doors and a set of mirror's with the arms for a dodge WC51.
  16. Hi all, has anyone got or know of a Dodge weapons carrier, WC51 or 52 for sale. Looking at a price range of about £7,000 to £8,000. Cheers Steve. P.S. I am based in Newmarket Suffolk.
  17. Hi Chris, according to the sheet of data I have it puts your ferret as being built in 1951 the same as mine. It states that there were 592 Mk1's built with hull numbers ranging from 7-599. The registrations start at 32BA81 and carry through to 38BA73. So with mine being hull number 119 with the reg. being 33BA93, not sure how it works but yours could be 33BA71. I dare say someone with a bit more knowledge of how they arrived at these registrations will come to the rescue. All I did was to take my hull number and minus yours which was 119 - 97 =22. Then take my reg. 33BA93 take away the 22 from the 93 to arrive at 71. I could turn out to be totally wrong but looking at it logically this is how I arrived at 33BA71. Steve.
  18. Hi there, has your ferret got square side hatches. Sounds like an early one, my hull number is 119 and was built in 1951. Reg. 33BA93. I will have a look through my data sheet to see if I can get an idea of your reg.
  19. Glad you made it and a big thanks for letting me sit in the commanders seat for the trip round the arena in your ferret. Hope to see you again soon for a catch up. The wife says she is up for taking the landy and Sankey trailer while I follow behind in the ferret for next year. First time for us and will more than likely become a regular venue for us to go to every year.
  20. Well me and the wife have just finished setting up the tent for the weekend and now going for a walk around to get the layout sorted for tomorrow. Hopefully get some nosh while we're about it. Weather is very hot so a few pints wouldn't go amiss either. Looking forward to tomorrow, looking to be a great show and maybe see a few off the forum to put some faces to some names. You can't miss us as we are in a Scooby Do Mystery Machine van.
  21. Decided to remove the pump again and turn it at an angle which would allow both pipes to be fitted. Had to reshape both of the supply and delivery pipes to get them to fit, nightmare as I didn't want to bend them to a point where they would be of no use. It is now running out of a jerry can until I get the tank back in. Such a relief to know the pump is now working as it should and not to have to install an electric pump, like to keep it as original as possible.
  22. Got the new pump kit and all done. One question, is there any particular way the suction and delivery inlet and outlet connections should be sited on the block. I have reconnected the delivery pipe from the pump to the carb ok but did not have a pipe from the suction side to the connecting union on the bell housing. Have since sourced one but it will not fit in a month of Sundays. My pump sits with the 2 connections at 9-15 where as the new pipe I have looked to enter the pump from at about just past the left of bottom centre when connected to the inion. Where these pipes basically made for the way the pump sat on the block. There is no way I could bend it to fit, the angle would be to acute just seems to long to fit. Can I cut the pipe and use a piece of petrol hose to connect the 2 flanges together. If I was to take the pump to bits and turn the body to help this pipe fit then the delivery pipe would be out and to short. Any ideas would be of help. Cheers Steve.
  23. Hi Jason, my name is Steve and I live in Newmarket. I did pop over to the site earlier on in the year at a weekend to see if I could be of any use as I'm in the building trade. The new building was only just started and thought you might need a willing pair of hands. I have a Mk1 ferret which I am near to getting road worthy. Just the brakes to sort and hopefully she will be ready. Will defo be popping over on the opening day. Regards Steve.
