  1. It wasn't there five or six years ago. I believe I have a pic somewhere that a friend took. I'll have a look for it.
  2. Here we go. The view whilst driving the one with the slit for a windscreen must have been well dodgy! This yard was an excellent place for a rummage. I believe it's been cleaned up now. Possibly due to old Mr Cuthbertson passing away, and new management coming in? That's only my opinion, there may be other reasons.
  3. Sadly they were scrapped. See this link http://www.hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?t=5377&page=3 I have more photos of them from about eight years ago. I'll scan them in later.
  4. Hi Maxmat, welcome to the forum. Do you mean how is the fuel cut off wired? If you look at my drawing you will see that it is item "C". Davie.
  5. You could be right about the sign. Though the more I look at it the more blurry it becomes.
  6. Absolutely no idea Degsy. The carriage does appear to have the "WD" mark on the side of it. Though I cannot make out what the sign on the Albion says. Anyone able to enhance it?
  7. Here are some more cab restoration pics.
  8. Aye, a real quality restoration. Owned by HMVF member Ack Ack. Thanks for posting these fine photos. It would be good to see some in service photos, they seem to be very rare though. A few archive pics can be seen in this link. http://www.albion-cx22.co.uk/archive_photos.html
  9. That scenery is the Pentland Hills. A very nice area to go for a bit of hill walking, something I don't do enough of. What happened to the Albion under the arch?
  10. This weekend, I serviced the compressor and shotblasting gear. I have converted a garden shed into a blasting room to keep the grit and dust under control. Then I blasted and painted various straps and fitments that attatch the fuel and air tanks to the chassis Some pinprick holes were apparant in one of the straps so I filled them with weld and ground smooth. Previously, I had remade a couple of these straps that were not repairable. These parts have been lying in a box awaiting attention for well over a year, so it's about time I did something about them.
  11. OK, going back about eighteen months. Repair of the cab. The cab woodwork was in a worse state than I thought. Isn't it always like that? Anyway, my joiner mate, Dave Denton was due me about a weeks labour from when I rewired his house so, he came and removed all the rotten wood. Then, using the old as templates, made up new sections and fitted them in place. We used mostly oak and a bit of mahogany because thats what I had in stock. There is still a wee bit of wood work to do, so, Dave is coming back in April to finish it off. These pictures have been posted before, but were lost in the big crash.
  12. It's about time that I started a blog about my Albion. I have been a bit apathetic about it for a year or so now.so, have given myself a metaphorical kick up the backside to get started on the restoration again. So, hopefully with a bit of encouragement, I'll be able to get some work done every week and, post the results on here. It will also keep Will happy as he tells me there is not enough Albion content on the site. He is probably correct. These first pictures are when I first went to view the Albion near Berwick on Tweed.
  13. My local tyre centre a few years ago supplied me with a special plastic ring just for this purpose.
  14. Here is a pic of the Douglas. You are right, it is very nice.
  15. Hi ABN, I wondered that too, but I think I would have noticed at the time. It must be the angle of the pic.
  16. Cheers for the info Chris. You learn something every day here!
  17. I went to look at this diamond T with a view to buying it. It was a real heartbreaker, heavy rust everywhere, as it had been used as a snowplough and the salt had rotted it badly. I'm glad I walked away!
  18. I stand corrected, it's a 434. I've no idea if it's still there, I've not been up there for years. Certainly it had a lot of good spares still attatched. Anyone on here near Stirling fancy nipping up and see if it's still there? It has a crane, but I don't know if it's a REME one.
  19. Here are a couple of Matadors at the Scone Rally, near Perth. Taken around nine years ago.
  20. Here's a dead 432 (I think) lying at Cambusbarron, near Stirling. Taken about nine years ago.
  21. I've started to sort out a large drawer full of photos, and will be scanning and posting in the appropriate threads. Here is a nicely restored pioneer taken at the Corbridge vintage show around seven years ago.
  22. Good to see another Albion on here. From your photo, the engine appears to be similar to the one in my cx22. Can you take a couple of closer photos and I'll compare them with mine. If it's the same, I can let you have a copy of the part of my manual that covers the engine.
  23. Is this of any use Mike? Looks like a bit of a beast. http://aec.fotopic.net/p14633511.html http://aec.fotopic.net/p14633512.html
  24. Don't think so mate, though I'll ask when I'm back there in a couple of weeks.
