  1. It does seem quite quiet in comparison with the rest of the week. But as it is so big, you would be still be hard pushed to see everything in the one day. Still it's Monday now! I expect you could walk around today for free and still see loads of stuff!
  2. It's best when there is a heat wave to get everyone burnt, followed by torrential rain. Then on average it's just fine! At least that what it usually seems like lol!
  3. The Hippo is nice. I'm in Herts too! I'm looking for storage at the moment.
  4. "Bit heavy on the Landies, never seen so many 101s in one place!" Phew good job I didn't get booked in then...
  5. Forgot to book this. Never mind just have to be a visitor. Going tomorrow. I hope the weather stays reasonable for all those taking part. Mind springs back to a certain event in the south last year. Drove four hours to find it was washed out on the sunday, so we drove round once and straight back home...
  6. C.ck. i was undecided whether to go. It's a couple of hours and last time NO heavies went, although billed as a heavies event. I decided to stay at home, as on the AWDC forum, someones Zil wasn't going...
  7. Two fog lights and no reversing light.
  8. I remember that our Warrent Officer had his own camp bed. We accidently sent it to the Falklands when they were all re-called to be sent down there. Tee Hee.
  9. On a slightly tangential point... I was in a national car club years ago. They had a scheme that you could sign up to, with offers of assistance in case of a breakdown. There were several levels of assistance from, "I am an expert with a garage", through to "Tea & Sympathy" whilst you wait for assistance. A cup of tea and local knowledge can be a great benefit! I realise that this is open to abuse, full of leagal B.S. these days, but it might be worth some discussion.
  10. I didn't know about the chequered bit! I relise that ignorance is no defence, but how is one suppossed to keep up!
  11. And another from the BBC News web site:
  12. It's a "tank" now! Picture credited to the BBC News website.
  13. Doesn't say that now! "Earlier in the City, police stopped and questioned demonstrators travelling in an armoured vehicle dressed in helmets and overalls. Police say 11 people have been arrested on suspicion of possessing police uniforms and for road traffic offences. " Slightly different take on it. Edited at15:15 as it now says: "Scotland Yard said 11 people - travelling in a renovated armoured personnel carrier - had been arrested on suspicion of possessing police uniforms."
  14. A friend of mine got done for impersonating a police officer as he had a white faired motorcycle with a fluorescent stripe - just like a garage hack no less!
  15. STOP PRESS Police checked the tyres etc and allowed it on it's way!
  16. Bad news indeed. Be interesting to see if they get charged with anything. Hard to pretend that they were out for anything else but disruption when they wear RIOT on their helmets and on the front of the vehicle. Didn't someone take a Ferret to Washington a few years back? (America not Tyne & Wear)
  17. Like Ford and Vauxhall are at the moment!
  18. I managed to miss you all. But I did get a blue light for my 127 Defender ambulance. I bet I'm still ignored at Beltring though...
  19. Will they turn up this time? Went last time to find that (apparently) all the Heavies had gone to Wales!
  20. It flew last thursday. Went up to RAF Wyton and watched it fly past a couple of times.
  21. But Anchor sell yank helmets at twice the price as others, that's 100% more! I found a couple of bargains. Went Sunday lunch time to buy and found both stalls had packed up! I wouldn't want to be a day visitor on Sunday...
