  1. Doesn't always work. I had a front wheel blow out going down Thursday night. Met at the gate by a Pole? Who told me that I was too late and had to sleep in the car park. Then the next day I had to pay the full Fifty quid to get in!
  2. Well I didn't hear of anything in the evenings, but the arena event each day had a Land Rover feature. Dunno why I bother with the arena though. Last year had to fight my way in after the rain. I was trying for the emergency vehicles and I took a 127 Locomotors Ambulance. The nice marshall pointed out that just because it has an illuminated sign on the front it didn't make it an ambulance! This year upon entering the arena the commentator sniffyly declared,, "Here's something foreign". No mention when pulling out the Series III and even a Dutch Series Ambi. Oh well. I'll save the fuel next time...
  3. Thank you sir. The Sankey is an old one. The brakes are push rod jobbies. It's in flipping good nick considering it's age. I'm just fettling the brakes, with a splash of paint she'll be as good as new!
  4. Can anyone post a link to a table giving the age of military registration plates. I have Googled and can't find anything. I want to date a Sankey with the reg nnERnn. I'm not being coy about the numbers, I can't remember them at the moment...
  5. I've search around, sorry if this has been asked elsewhere: Are the shocks on a narrow Sankey the same as any of the Series Landrovers? It's the older rodded over-run brake type of trailer - if that makes any difference. TIA
  6. Yup seen the other threads. Completly messed this one up. Sorry chaps. Sorry for the words Mark. I though as other threads had f**k and B4stard, it was OK. Maybe it's because he's a regular?
  7. Doh I've posted in he wrong area methinks! Mod Edit.... Moved
  8. At Beaulieu over the weekend I was looking over one of the vehicles and was surprised to see it was made of wood. Seems like a good idea as from what I've seen replicas and deactivated rifles seem to be chuffing expensive. I assumed the geezer had made it - because all you clever people on here seem to have the ability to produce a truck or whatever from a wheel barrow full of rust! But no he said he'd bought it. And it was a lot of money! So have you clever people ever made your own, and was it from a plan or just from photo's? I'm thinking of something to mount on the Lightweight.
  9. Due to the bad weather we didn't get there until Sunday lunchtime. There was a 20 minute queue to get in! They tried to break the wait by giving out the Gift Aid forms to fill in! Also the Wessex chaps did some marching up and down to "entertain" us. Tried the Overlord show today, only to find it washed out. Very disappointing as I had some cash burning a hole in my pocket. But not as disappointing as those there...
  10. Blinking 'eck. If I'd know you'd post so many pics I could have stayed at home!
  11. Hope you get a rent free month. That's terrible. Nosey old bag.
  12. Well you all seem to be loonies - so I should fit in...
  13. I'm in Herts. Maybe we could have a club of two! :?
  14. Hi all, having been welcomed to a camping are at Beltring last week I found out that all the "hosts" visited here. I have some pictures from the show that they, and hopefully some of you, will find interesting. I started with Lightweight Landrovers 7 years ago. Now have two, a 127 Ambulance and a D90, just got rid of a Series. I parked up the largest Landrover last week - only to be utterly dwarved by a couple of Militants, a low loader, Centurian, TM lots of other stuff and finally a Zil Missile carrier!!!! Right, off to see how to post piccy's...
