As often as I can get to the range! :-D Parker Hale modified a number on SMLE No1 to .22 this one was built as .22 I also have one of the last batch of Mossberg MB42a .22 rifles supplied to Britsh army from 1939 to 1941 as a training rifle. The sights on that are Parker Hale, and cost more than the rifle. It is marked 'Property of the United states'..

  8. True, mind you at some stage it may have had a new one fitted. Not that it maters as long as it it is on properly. Form the photos I'd definitley have gone and had a look at it. Take a scraper and have a scrape at any rust points on the chassis. If it is surface rust, no problem. Thick underseal can hide a lot of problems so be carful.
  9. Military front bumpers can't make out if it is square rear cross member. Did you have a good poke at the chassis? If its free of rust everything else looks OK.
  10. Blott book is funier. Pictures are better. Though a bit of topic for MV lovers I recommend Incdecent Exposure. The description of the Saracen's is hysterical.
  11. Some migrant Croydon Sparrow? :-D Funny enough something similar happned with a US Fire Engine shipped to Croydon by COVES. Might be three weeks of constant shaking disturbing the muck.
  12. welcome Dave. what re enacting do you do?
  13. Not splitting hairs Tim. Quite correct, if it is a realistic looking firearm, material dosen't matter.

  15. There was a BBC reporter saying the earth shook as the troops were marching in perfect time. scary
  16. The right to clean Jack's Penthouse! :-D
  17. Welcome Edna, about time the SENIOR SERVICE got another look in. Towards the end of the war a lot odf costal artilery gunners were re-trained, known as Gunfantry. These men provided the back bone for forces that Liberated the Channel Island's on May 9th 1945
  18. Does this mean we have to put a boom across the Medway again? welcome to the madhouse.
  19. Welcome in, your acomplishments will be most appreciated, the club house is due for a makeover.
  20. Unless you have a wild desrie for a Series 3, if the main job is pulling a trailer. Look at a 200tdi Discovery or an early Range Rover. Lot faster, unbelivably more comfortable.
  21. Check chassis, especially just in front of rear springs, for rust, and bulkheads and door tops. Also front hubs for pitting on the swivels. Contary to blurb Landys do rust.
