  1. Welcome Roger! Lots of help here and the mechanics of them are very tough and simple. As you say you'll learn. There not really yours till you've skinned your knuckles fixing something.
  2. OK, what does OATS stand for. Unless your implying chuck Army Porridge in to plug leacks? Actually I was shown many moons ago how to fix a Gipsy radatior temporarily with a couple of duck eggs.
  3. Found some at a place called vehilce electrics Birmingham. I'll let you all know when they arrive.
  4. I had a caravan one over my WC51 when she had to be stored outside for about 5 years. Finally gave up the ghost, but withstood gales, rain and the coldest winter for umpteen years. Protected the vehicle perfectly.
  5. I'll have to win the Lottery and come on a trip! Never did manage to have the 101 and Katy the WC54 together! Another thing I always meant to do. Good news is I was right! She did get a new owner who understands her!The stock pictures you see very often of a 101 ambulance under a tree is her. Like the new tyres.
  6. Blimey they still going? Haven't thought of them since they were Radio Spares!
  7. Banging an old drum. An electronic ignition unit such as Frank Jolleys save a lot of headaches, and you can still go back to flash bang ignition if you want to.
  8. I'd recommend Pastparts to rebuild all the cylinders and the master. Cost is about the same, or even a bit cheaper than NOS ones. They point is you get relaible cylinders, that you know fit the vehcile. Use Cupro nickel brake lines and it is fix and forget.
  9. Gordon, the latest bus wipers are computer operated! ***ing usless but computer operated! They have at least uprated the wiper arms. The old ones were held together by pop rivets and had a habit of shearing and banging on the roof of the car in front. The idea of a vacum resovoir appeals, though possibly 6 volt electric would be the real answer. Trouble is everything else is dates to at least the 1952 rebuild, and it all works! Though I do know some sad souls who restore buses (!) so I'll ask them. Got to think ahead now the Grandaughter could be heading for D-Day 100!
  10. Caravan and motorhome covers seem to be the easiest available. There are breathable versions.
  11. Thanks Gordon. The fliexble rubber pipes going to the motors, eh, snapped! :red: Otherwise they work OK just a bit disconcerting when they stop as your pulling up a hill.
  12. Does anyone have an illustration of the vacum set up for Dodge wipers? I can't find any in the manual. I want to check my system put properly.
  13. How many 101 ambulance's are in Denmark? At least one of them should have the genuine articale in.
  14. her's the official picture from the Dodge manaual. There is a part marked Tramnsmissiom Main Drive pinion bearing Retaines. .
  15. Tried Halfords, seems all thier bike bulbs are 12 volt now! Hopefully foung the parts, I'll post the place if it works out.

  19. I have to agree with Bob. All I've ever heard them called is Dee Dee tanks, never Donald Ducks
