  2. Hi Sam Yes I do have a complete set of bands 4 of the smaller and the long thin one , do you need the spindle rubber ? I have those aswell . Sorry I don’t have the bump stops , I made some up from a piece of round solid rubber I found laid about cheers Dave
  3. I've thought hard and long about this, but due to storage / space problems , I've decided to sell my MW .Its had a full and thorough ground up rebuild as the restoration blog shows , complete engine rebuild, new valves , guides springs ,chassis , body , brakes , king pins ,clutch ,NOS Dynamo , Distributor ,starter motor rebuild , suspension links , lever arms etc etc etc, well every conceivable thing that can be rebuilt has been done .As any resto project alot of time , money and effort has been put into getting it right .I have more photos of the resto through its stages if anyone would like to see a particular section , engine , body , cab , brakes , lever arms and links etc . Thanks to all the people who have helped me over the last 2/3 years with advice and help with sourcing parts its appreciated . I'll also have some bits used and NOS ,when I get around to sorting them out I'll put some pics up of what there is . I dont know where to start on price so I'm open to offers , I'll give it a few day's before I put it on Milweb and Evil bay . You can e mail or message me with any offers/enquiries , the vehicle would have to be collected . Heres the link to the restoration . Dave
  4. Sorry didn't realise you wanted a suspension band , yes that's not a problem I have them at hand .
  5. Well Sam , I've found the throttle stop and canvas grips and ferrules , but the throttle plug must be in a safe place , that safe I cant find the damn thing at the moment Dave
  6. No problem I'll dig them out and give you a shout Dave
  7. Hello Sam I'll get into the garage and dig the stop out , I have a throttle handlebar plug (which I bought from Terry ) then I found the original one :), I also have a pair of canvas grips with the brass ferrules spare which I think I bought off Lex ? a while ago Dave
  8. Hi Sam Just give a shout if you need the bits Dave
  9. I agree its alot harder to find and follow things compared to the previous layout which I found far easier to navigate . I don't frequent the site as often now as it's more difficult to navigate to find and scroll through topics .
  10. Stuart bray has a Flea throttle tube for sale ........................... http://www.stuart-bray-motorcycles.co.uk/spares-other-ww2-bikes.html I'm sure I have a spare throttle stop if yours is missing as picture . I also have a spare centre suspension rubber band if you need one .
  11. I have the same problem with the drivers seat , move it and the SRS /Airbag light comes on ................ grab the yellow covered wire under the seat and wiggle the plug ...........that cures it .The front window, take it the bottom hold the button for a few seconds ,send it back up and it resets itself .
  12. Hi I'm looking for a serviceable barrel for a flying Flea . I've tried the usual suppliers , Hitchcocks had a second hand civi one but unfortunately half of the lip on the top has broken away . I thought about taking the top lip completely off and making a gasket out of copper sheet , warm it up cool it down and then it should compress enough and seal the head ? any thoughts on the above idea .............. I don't mind wether its a Civi barrel as I would ask Terry at Metal Magic to thread the exhaust manifold . Further investigation shows cracks in the base.Looking at the condition of the barrel and the cracks (shown in the photo )I would say the barrel would self destruct if a re bore was attempted ,or anyone know of a good engine shop that could fettle the barrel for me Any help would be much appreciated in tracking a barrel down as I'm trying to help a friend out . The head also had a large crack which I've managed to sort . Thanks Dave
  13. Additional info on the mystery holes , place your finger over the threaded hole you can actually feel it sucking. Going to block the hole off with a bolt and see what happens , cant find any info on the holes and it doesn't show anything in the parts book:undecided: .
  14. That is nice . Just a damn shame it wasn't for sale in about 3 months time when my other shed is built and finished , I'd have given it a good home just stuck for space at the moment  . Dave
  15. TR Williamsons at Ripon supply good quality paint and they have started to make up aerosols http://www.trwilliamson.co.uk/about.php Dave
  16. Had a big smile on my face John :-D ............... Have an other mystery to get to the bottom of. I noticed on the Carb a 3/16" threaded hole and an unthreaded hole on the opposite side on the choke block . I cant seem to find out what is supposed to fit into it .When I had been on the runout and stopped the engine I noticed wisps of smoke coming from the threaded hole :nut: . The photo's are of my spare carb , any thoughts on the mystery holes , maybe some sort of venting system ? Dave
  17. Well took the MW for a 30 mile runout yesterday in the red hot sunshine ....................... no water/steam came out of the rad filler neck so happy about that , reduced the water level as some suggested and it seems to have done the trick :-)
  18. Hi Richard Luckily the adapter is still the carb on mine , I tried a 5/16" UNF nut and its the same as the distributor 5/16" , Chris Morter will probably have one of those on the shelf . Dave
  19. Hi Thanks Richard thats excellent , I managed to get the nuts for the carb and distributor from John Morter today , so just waiting for the copper tube to turn up and thats another job done :-) ............. Dave
  20. Thanks for that Richard and John .I know the pipe is 1/8" the adapter is in the carb but the nuts are missing from the carb and distributor , am I correct in thinking the nuts are UNF ? Thanks Dave
  21. Yep they are value for money , quality repos not like the Indian monkey metal ones that are available . I did the BBC one show with Malcolm (welbike UK) and a friend of my dad's D Collier who was ex Arnhem , they wanted my original to run it against the repo , Dennis 156 Para was actually shot off a Welbike nr the DZ and captured in Oosterbeek .
  22. Another post on the subject :-D . My pipe is missing so I'm going to make one up out of copper .I would like to know if anyone could tell me the route it takes around the engine bay .. Thanks Dave
  23. Yes , they make very good replica parts , bought a headstock for mine from them , confusing thing is "its a genuine 1942vMK1 thats come back from the states ":-D , so could it be a post war engine that's fitted ? ........just curious .
