    Winches like this up to 4000lbs. used on Shackletons Mk1 and 2. So I would guess Lincolns, Lancs, Manchesters used 'em.

    The other day I dug up a cast iron wheel, 65cm diameter, 5 spokes, very heavy. Now does anyone know a web site showing Foundry Casting Marks, from about a hundred years ago. Thanks BillyH

    A.T.C. at Appleby-in-Westmorland had two Cheetahs and a box of bits. But that was a long, long , time ago. Got to be worth asking. I knew a fitter in the R.A.F. who claimed to have changed over 1000 cylinders, on Cheetahs from Ansons. Best of luck, BillyH
