I know it's not assembled on the bike, but the rod should come out the other end. The brass spring box on mine is threaded for the cable adjuster (which was missing) But I've no idea if it'r original or repro as it was on the bike when I acquired it many years ago. Ron

Chris I've seen some wonderful work from Jake's workshop but unfortunately that was definitely not the case with my M20 forks that he restored. Unbelievably, for a man in his profession, he used the wrong (sintered) bronze which disintegrated during 1000 miles. Plus my brake rod lug got damaged.
I've also heard of more serious problems which I'll not go into. The guy I'm referring too, who makes the fork parts and has also re-bushed Triumph forks for two mates is John Brewster, Ron

Chris are you aware that 3SW (Triumph) and 3HW (Webb) forks are not the same so spindles and spring are different. I have notified Peter Long (Cornucopia) that some of his listing might be wrong, which he said he would rectify.......I haven't checked though.
Fortunately there is a guy in Sussex who makes and sells spindles/bushes and headstock bearing sets for all Triumph models. And probably cheaper! Contact details on request. Ron

Got it now.👍 Ron

Or perhaps it's two different tanks which I'm not aware of? Ron
-
Well I'm confused Lex? "military james" claims it to be:-
"This is a tank from Philippe Guérin , Ron ... C.5147313"
Ron
-
Lex it's the tank with the original markings and measurements that you sent me that we are talking about. Ron

Have you contacted him through ebay?
Or direct via this email address. welbikes.gb@gmail.com

OK I don't know the owner. A Dutchman added the measurements and sent me the pictures a long time ago. 👌 Ron

Here is an original tank with measurements for the transfers available from https://classictransfers.co.uk/
The census numbers are 1 1/2" and important to have the Dot after the 'C' I buy my low tack stencils from https://www.axholmesigns.co.uk/ Ron

You misunderstood me! I meant nothing to do with the bike being fake, which you can clearly see I have identified (at least the frame, from the information given)
The fake and hidden comment, is purely and obviously about the names people call themselves. It always feels nicer to me to be able to address someone by their proper name. Ron

No idea. I don't understand what all the fake and hidden names are about? Ron
-
It seems at least the front frame has been used to make your military bike. What is the engine number out of interest? Ron

I just found out that the factory ledgers say KM20 2757 was delivered to the AA in yellow on 7/6/39 with engine KM20 1657 .

What's the census number calculation for the frame number 1190 please?
Also which fuel tap did they leave the factory with. Mine have two different ones.
Monty
I calculate 1190 to be C5147190 and the petrol taps are same as Triumph (and others)

Thanks Richard. I was the C600 that you'd clarified before but I'd forgotten the answer. Ron

NO gear oil in the Welbike. Where did you get that information? The manual clearly states engine oil. 40 or 50 will do. Same for the Flea. But gear oil in the Flea gearbox.
I'm sure Rob Van Meel will have the appropriate parts lists and manuals. http://robvanmeel.nl/

Just checked my bottom nut with a magnet which is dull plated steel. It's looking more like my whole thing is original. I can't measure the spring, but obviously it has to fit in the spring box and I'd start with 1 1/2" and gradually shorten it to suit. Ron
