    Triumph 3SW

Pawel. Bare in mind that the clutch rollers for a Triumph are not the standard 1/4 x 1/4 rollers. They are in fact about 12 thousands of an inch shorter in the length. The standard rollers will give you no end of trouble and grinding of gears. Ron PS you can of course grind some off the end of 1/4" rollers. https://draganfly.co.uk/shop/70742/clutch-roller-1596669875/#57-0394

Pawel these 3S lined up at the factory were from Contract C3360 and were ordered in 1939 well before war was declared. The top links are painted. Ron

    Triumph 3SW

I have mat chromed my handlebars on the 3S and 5S because that is what they were for at least part of production and what I think I see in pictures. The B&W picture is the only picture I have found so far, that is definitely a 5SW from 1940. It clearly looks like a plated handlebar. Ron

    Triumph 3SW

I'd say that the pre war bikes had more plated parts, but during the war, the top links and brake are are painted. The brake rod itself is still plated but looks painted in other pictures. Ron

    Triumph 3SW

I'd say that the kick start and gear change levers are dull plated. The rest is paint. Ron
  6. I'm still going back over it all Jan. It was always obvious that the WD KC10 was fitted with a Dunlop saddle and NiFe battery. But it was only after seeing these pictures of WD WC10's that convinced me that these also were fitted with a Dunlop and NiFe........Despite what the parts list states. Ron
  7. Fabulous stuff Jan. I keep going back over it. I notice quite a few Terry and Lycette covers without that top panel seam. Ron
  8. What ever you fancy love!! Ron
  9. Hi Steve. Plenty of felt sheet on ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111065425019?hash=item19dc03e47b:g:RGcAAOxyhodRyaKO Ron
  10. Have you spoken to Brian Tillin 07786 861697. My three Triumphs all have his brake rods. They are exact copies of his original. Ron
  11. My own thoughts are that unlike the Vokes filter that were standard issue or fitted at the factory, the Talflow's were shipped out to the far east and fitted as required. I'm always willing to learn more. Ron PS Steve. The way I read that is "no pictures have been seen so far" with the date 2020 of the publication of that article. Maybe email Rob for confirmation. Other wise I do have a complete Vokes here, selling for Lex!!
  12. That would be interesting to see! Have you checked out Rob VdB's site https://www.wdnorton.nl/ So far I've only got original pix of four M20's with Talflow's and all in Burma. The India Office 16H's seem to have been fitted with a filter by the rear wheel. Ron

    BSA WD C10 project

Andy my C10 featured in this thread is a 1940 model WC10. Genuine WD, built and despatched in 1939. Being a 1940 model, it has the later speedo drive driven on the outside of the left hub. My other C10 is the earlier KC10 and has the angled speedo drive through the brake plate, like yours would need. Back then it was an optional extra and would have come with a blanking plug in the brake plate. Like I said on the "C" forum yesterday, the first thing is to establish if you have the bigger drive gear on the hub. None of these parts are going to be easy to find. The BSA angled speedo drive is unique but there is a way round that, but still very difficult to find. First picture 1939 model, second picture 1940 model. Ron
  14. Yes well done Lex😊 I can't recall seeing that side stand on anything else military. I doubt it was made specially for this job, so probably something pre war civy? Royal Enfield?? Ron PS I see part of a Doherty (Norton) twist grip in that pile!
  15. Ha Ha Thanks Jan. Except I never got round to that unique looking side stand, and still looking for a 12" Bakelite (Flea) pump! These are the cases I acquired! Ron
  16. Not much happening at the moment on the restoration front. I've just been doing some fettling around. When I built my replica Royal Enfield experimental WD/DC, I was missing the outer primary case, so I borrowed one and got it copied. Well earlier this year I acquired a matching pair of original inner and outer cases. So over several days, I've prepared them and stripped the whole primary and fitted them. Another job ticked off. Ron🙂
  17. I think I might have one Gary.......And an adapter that screws on the carb. I'll check later or in the morning. Ron
  18. Looking at the cover without the top seamed panel. The design was definitely used war time, as seen in the MDD parts list and factory picture. I think the same style was also used on later WN/G's. I did my best to get it replicated many years ago, when Armours were getting saddle covers made by "Bournemouth Upholstery" They also made my Welbike cover. Ron
  19. Paul the only decent mattress springs that I've found and bought so far are off this guy. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183492104769?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 I expect Jan will chip in later and it's possible he can make and supply the other parts. Ron
  20. The Royal Enfield models had a unique "D" shaped plate on the nose. Jan will elaborate! Your frame looks a similar shape to this WD/C original, if it's the correct size, the plate could be easily added. Ron
  21. Steve I just remembered that the KC models didn't have matching numbers. They were all mixed up from the start. The WD WC10's did have matching numbers. After the WD WC10 contract the numbers got mixed up again as the same frame was used for the C10's/11's/12's. I think I can see your engine number, I can look it up if you want if you confirm by PM. Something is not right!? Ron
  22. Yes a mate of mine "Simon" sort of runs the war bike group who were there. Sounds like it might be a coming up alternative to W&P? RON
  23. Alan, I'm Ron not Gary. As discussed in a previous post, that is the type that I have on my WD/L and WD/G. I had to modify the spout for my WD/L as the carb didn't line up. Was that show the one in Dorking? I heard it was very dusty there. RON.
  24. Alan this is what was fitted to a CO as standard. https://accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/Amal-Carburettors/Air-Intake-Assembly-with-Gauze But I do have Lex's Vokes tank top filter here if you want the more expensive route. Ron
