  1. Thanks for all the complements and the support from you all . Well i started practising making a full scale model of the Vickers machine gun for my armoured car I only have 3 months to get ready for the first show so I thought I who’d make it in plastic to start with. I started with a 110mm x 3.2mm pvc pipe which I found I also used some 6mm plastic sheet which I had laying around the only thing I had to buy was some supper glue I have now got it to this stage. Now I have got the steel to start making one to look a bit more realistic I will keep you posted has thinks progress. Cheers bill

  10. Hi just to put my bit in I have a friend that has a split screen vw van that looks like a lump of rust but underneath it is like a new pin with an engine that you can eat your dinner off the point is. it generates more interest at shows than some of the top show cars if it was up to me I who’d do the same to your truck just one more question when was the last time you saw a unpainted military vehicle at a show . But that is my opinion. Cheers bill
  11. Try this site http://www.dawnmonksillustrations.co.uk/military-art/the-story-of-deborah-d51/ she also has a link to some video of the recovery of a first world war tank hope this is what you are looking for cheers bill
  12. Hi that’s a good question has I see it if you are a member of a club i.e MVT or any re-enactment club and you are allowed to buy a gun for that purpose ie a de-act or a reproduction then what is there to stop you making a none working gun for your own use? As I see it the VCR act applies to us but mostly to people that are not members of clubs and the general public. But If you wanted to sell them to the general public you would have to have proof of membership or paint them a bright orange to distinguish them from the real thing This is a simple way of looking at this but how many have you heard that just built a gun for their own use and gone onto making them has a business but it all comes down to common sense . cheers bill

  20. Hi Doug just seen the comments on the car when I first got the tipper there where some disbelieve in what I wanted to do with it from the neighbours and when I got the 9ins grinder out to cut up the body and then cut the 5mm steel plate with it they were not two pleased but after a bit they put up with it. But when it came to put the turret on one or two came to help put it on but to most I was the loony round the corner. But there has been some interest from the local paper and they have done an article on it last week here is a link if you are interested in it http://www.barnsley-chronicle.co.uk/news/article/6784/ex-mechanic-builds-armoured-car-in-garden cheers bill :nut::nut::nut:
