  1. Obviously hard to say without seeing/trying it but between 2,500 and 4,500. They seem to be in demand at the moment and prices hav e hardened for good vehicles recently.

    Poppies

Yes,they are available, but not usually issued to the ordinary poppy sellers, contact your nearest Legion branch, they should have them. Cheers Degsy
  3. Command Car dimensions are Length 167" (w/winch175") Width 78 1/2" Height 81 1/2"(62 1/4")
  4. Hi Maddie To make a Land Army hat buy a Gurkha hat (they are quite common), take off the band and unpick the stitching around the brim. they are double thickness so you will then have 2 hats. If they are on the small side because they are made of felt if you soak them they will stretch quite easily,of course you need to keep them stretched until they are dry or they wiill shrink again. Charity

N.Wales MVT members will be at 2 locations with vehicles actively Poppy selling ,most RBL branches are delighted and very grateful for any offers of help. I feel it is the least I can do for all the sacrifices that have been made on our behalf. Lest we forget !
  6. Superb work, the difficulties you must have to overcome really put our efforts with WW2 vehicles in the shade.

    Charity

Great idea, count me in,could I suggest the Royal British Legion as a suitable charity.
  8. Land Rover say no more than 5%,I think they claim injector pump damage is likely if ahigher percentage is used which is the reason I asked the question.
  9. Interesting to hear you say you are running on 99% bio diesel, how long have you been doing this and have you had any problems?
  10. There's none so deaf as those that do not want to hear.
  11. Got to agree with you about France,so noticeable last year in Normandy both at Pointe du Hoc and Longue battery at how dangerous it could be but not a sign in sight and allowed to go anywhere and clamber over anything. In this country you would not even be allowed anywhere near, whatever happened to those little words 'take care'. I could go on for hours about it but i'd better shut up in case the thought police are listening.
  12. Well I suppose at a pinch you could class it as an enemy vehicle as it might well be fitted with a BMW motor.

    Max Hasting

Me too, several including Das Reich, Overlord and his latest, Armageddon which covers the battles for Germany from late 1944 on. All the books are well researched but some of his conclusions/opinions are considered somewhat controversial by some 'experts'.

    Books

Definitely agree about the Delaforce books, very well researched also about libraries,I have had literally hundreds of books on loan ,I could never have afforded the cost of so many.

If your interest is the Normandy campaign, then 'Decision in Normandy' by Carlo d'Este gives the overall view but 'The Bloody Battle for Tilly' and 'A Fine Night for Tanks' both by Ken Tout deal with specific operations.
