Griff, I think if its an external (to the pump) leak, then it will not be leaking into the oil. If the internals are shot, then the fuel will go into the oil. You can get refurb kits from Marcus Glenn etc. Got some good pointers on this forum, ie getting the fuel pump off by removing the fuel tank...not as daunting as it sounds. Mick

I was under the impression that HG Wells lived in Woking, and the aliens landed on Horsell common. That alien (and some pods) are next to the HG Wells theatre in Woking. I guess its a bit like Ernest Hemmingway, everywhere in SE USA and the Caribbean islands claim he lived in their town

I have a spare distributor, and I replaced all the cables within the braded outers no problem. Bit fiddly removing the connectors at the plug ends, but after doing one, the others were easy. Maybe Daimler should have made the hull out of 3mm alloy, the Ferret would have been much lighter?

You will probably find your fingers provide all the dampening required. Your not running too lean are you.. Ithink that can cause hot running. Mick

This has probably been covered many times before, but...... The 110's in the Withams auction? Generally good, or generally bad? Would obviously require a visit to check one out...do they normally go for the guide price, or is it worth a punt and placing a bid lower than the guide? Just how easy is it to get one of these registered, is it quick and cheap? Are there any gotchas when getting them registered? Thanks, Mick

Ferrets (as far as my limited experience is concerned) are a blast. In dry weather. I use mine most weeks, use it to go to work sometimes, and also pick the kids up from school. Seems like the more you use them, the better (or should I say, regular use). Insurance is about £100/year fully comp with Footman James They are very easy to drive when you get used to the pre-select, and to be honest that takes very little time to get used to, and is probably easier than driving a regular manual gearbox. Visibility 9despite what some say) is very good. Reliability seems good, its all heavy duty stuff and is all mechanicals really unlike modern cars......and there is plenty of expertise on this site if you get stuck

they look like the plates that are under the floor, beneath the radio battery tray...at least thats what mine looked like.

I think the difficulty is that content etc is as important (if not more important) to the newbies. I still take much more from this forum than I give, because I don't know nuffink...just a fact. Now if you got library of vehicle documents (that you cannot download or print)...that would also be well worth paying for? Maybe there is a sliding scale, you get access to standard stuff non-subscription, but all the valuable stuiff (clives corner, classifieds, technical stuff) can only be seen on subscription. If there is enough good stuff in teh non-subscription areas it may act as a hook for new people to subscribe? Its gonna be a difficult nut to crack! Maybe its registered as a charity, like MVT? Did you have a flashing amber light, and did you go through Knaphill/Horsell? I caught the tail-end of something going up our road but it was too far away to make out what it was...it was big and green though :shocked:

well....apart from that and what appears to be a cannon its pretty close. She did it from photos of my Ferret, so has the correct number plate etc....but I guess artistic licence and all that
