  1. Make sure there are no rips in the lining, as memsahib went mental when the next set of washing was mixed up with feathers.

  3. British Chieftain Tanks/ M1 Abrams 2 to choose from. These are 2 British Chieftain main battle tanks that were converted by the Movie industry at great expense to look like the US M1 Abrams main battle tank which are not available for private use. These are a good investment at $69,000.00 ea., 1st. buyer gets to choose , so hurry. Location: Aqua Dulce, Cal. 91390 http://www.armyjeeps.net/armor1.htm
  4. That might be feasible as the French used Panthers after the war for a while i believe.
  5. I have heard of that sunken chieftain rumour, also from a Tank Regt., old boy.
  6. Bob, if i can find the newspaper article from the 80's, a bloke in devon believed he had located the dump on dartmoor where the iron railing collection had been taken from the devon area. This could also be parts of a WW1 tank which was a plinth vehicle in Millbay.
  7. :DHello there, any old T-34's lying around?
  8. By the powers of cut and paste, just lifted this off the Fortean Times website; "I remember an old tale from Stockton on Tees about a number of Sherman Tanks that were buried under a huge slag heap near to an iron and steel reclamation plant in the Oxbridge part of the town! I always wondered why they didn't just melt these things down for scrap or simply use them - there were severe shortages of all raw materials after WWII, plus a new (Cold) war in the offing - so wouldn't it make sense to do this?"
  9. Used Volvo BM 4400 Wheeled Loader / digger for tank trenches. Or are you talking anti-tank? I was in an Airfield Damage Repair Unit.
  10. Dif you ever get a copy. I have a copy recorded somewhere. It is a pretty bad film. The interior shots of the tank are huge, ballroom size.
  11. Found this pic of me in the distance (with me hands on me hips, duty banksman). When I was in the T.A. 234 ADR on annual camp in Germany. The task was bigging a big hole. This was on the Kaiser range if I remember rightly. It was for the 'range' fire brigade to have a source of water in dry season. Loads of ordnance kept coming up. At the end of the week, rained so much, uncovered a 155mm shell we had been driving over and parking on. Nice big bang on the Friday.
  12. I mean the P-38 and TIGhAR. mrimmer could tell you more.
  13. Thats a shame he didn't check the law. If you look at the P-38 site, U.S. have abadnoned kit before 1961 because records lost in fire. If i have misquoted i apologise. I know they always lay claim to kit. Interesting test case.
  14. or become a dealer. Good advert for marcus glenn, which is nice.
  15. I used to be a shepherd, but i got the sack. When i needed to do a stocktake i fell asleep!
  16. I have, through the powers of the force found the target marker for this range. There is no Crane Law referenced that i can find either. Very little on the internet about the range, so might have had a very short life.
  17. There is a thread running about buried tanks, on one of my usual surf's on the internet, found this which should be of interest to plant enthusiasts...enjoy. http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/showthread.php?6301-Old-Dozer-Found-Buried
  18. Well spotted, bad spelling mistake. I must have still been in happy mode.
  19. I love all these stories. Will there be the same stories about the buried A-10 warthogs and warriors in the gulf in fifty years time? Also one thing comes to mind. They stole a crated Spit at night and buried it. Didn't leave a marker or wrote a treasure map, bad pirates weren't they.
  20. One carrier wouldn't really be worth recovering. Don't forget all the DD Valentines off Scotland and Poole. Perhaps a diving club could confirm the carrier?
