  6. I sympathise! We had a new kitchen fitted a few weeks ago after waiting for 2 months for it and many wranglings with a certain store! Our kitchen cost us, the most expensive quartz worktops and the most expensive kitchen units in the place. Not only that but on saying that I would do the tiling, Mrs W chose the most expensive and s*****g awkward tiles to fit and grout. The kitchen took a week to fit, and Ive got a 2 year old and a 3 month old to feed.....you have my sympathies...
  7. And while I think about it, what do I torque conrod nuts up to?
  8. I might be a bit thick here. The crank is back from my local engineers, Ive put all the pistons in have just been torquing up the crank bearings. It was then I noticed that I may have made a mistake concerning the con rod offsets, can someone clarify for me please. Ive been working with tha engine rebuild pics and info off the G503 and recently the same one printed in Windscreen. On pic 27 of the bottom end rebuild it shows the con rod offset in relation to the centre main bearing. Skinny side toward the main bearing on pistons 2 and 3. Which I have. I cant work out if on pistons 1 and 4 the fat sides are pointing toward the main centre bearing or the fat sides should be on the side furthest away from centre main.:???

  12. Snapper's to blame for this.. In 1941 there were a series of exercises to test Britain anti invasion plans and defences, the first of which was called Bumper. It involved 250,000 troops and was designed to see where Britain went wrong at Dunkirk and test AI plans. From what I know it involved British and Canadian forces around East Anglia and London and surroundings. The referee happened to be a certain Mongomery. Has anyone any info, pics, eyewitness accounts on this they could pass on? Ive got a couple of docs and am awaiting more from tha national archives, the IWM has a few bits, but would be interested to see if anyone has any more info.
