  1. Spoke to a long standing family friend today who works at Cranfield. He knows the chap who is in charge of the restoration and conservation at Duxford.
  2. Thats a cracking bit of work. How did you attach the back body to the chassis? Johns sent me some pics of how his is done, would be interested to see how yours attaches.
  3. Looks like a bulldog that has been chasing parked cars, as for the truck, thats a different matter!:-D
  4. Welcome aboard, feel free topost "daft" questions as most of us have had them, I have still got plenty! You dont need a MV to be part of the chat, just an interest. Although Im sure it wont be long...!
  5. Leighton Buzzard is just down the road from me, there is a narrow guage railway there, is that where it is based?
  6. What condition were they in, have you any photos?
  7. I notice on page 73 of this months CMV there is an article about steam military traction engines. The author makes a reference "But having fairly wide ranging interests in anything to do with transport, not to mention dancing girls and beer". Is that our dancing girls? Has anyone got the chassis numbers of these dancing girls if they are not HMVF's own? Are they from the same batch, if not, what was the Ministry of Supply number and who were they issued to?
  8. Youve done an amazing job on the rear body, congratulations. How did you cope with making the ironwork brackets and fixings?
  9. Hugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grubb, oh , and Jack...
  10. This one is at Shuttleworth Im guessing. Must pay it a visit soon.
  11. I take it they are not up for sale anymore Tim?
  12. Hello Yohan, i think you grasped the mews bit OK. Watch where you tread in the sandpit, Kuno is trying to recreate a scene from Alamein using his bucket and spade and 2 ice lolly sticks. Enjoy
  13. Ive been a member of the MVT for about 18 months now. The magazine is a great source of info. Went to my first meeting the other weekend (See John Marchant thread in meetings), with my first roadworthy MV, the Iltis. Very friendly bunch of people, and i had a great time going in convoy through the villages with the others. Member of IMPS too, but prefer MVT, not sure why though!
  14. Thats nos a Millet Mill, thats a Landy with a Big Bore exhaust! If you had looked inside it you would have seen £5000 worth of stereo, TV screens and blue neon in car lighting.
  15. There used to be a map on the forum somewhere with peoples locations. I am in a bit of a blak hole here myself so I sympathise! Are you not a member of the MVT?
  16. Nothing wrong with Roman ruins- Leptis Magna is in Libya one of the best preserved Roman sites in the Med.
  17. I'll second Lee's comment, its what this forum is for, asking questions, even though they may seem quite stupid questions to ask to someone who has been involved with MVs for a long time. I dont pretend to know everything about MV's but I thought I knew a bit about the Morris. That is until I spoke to Mike... So keep the questions coming Mike, and lets see some photos, or email to me and I will post them up.
  18. Where are you going to store the dancing girls??
  19. The mechanical fuel pump should be fine for fuel delivery, mine is NOS and is OK. There should be a mark, internally I think for the level of oil. Im guessing it should be a light oil, but stand to be corrected. I still reckon its to do with not running air filter therefore running too rich.
  20. From experience it would still be worth a phone call to past parts, they carry a lot of spares.
  21. My mind was wandering along the same ridiculous lines as well. Ridiculous......:coffee:
  22. Your right about the air cleaner being in the cab, and yes they can collapse on the inside. Mine which I have yet to put on, looks fine on the outside but is rotten internally. Maybe mine doesnt light up because its not completely wired up yet?
