  1. Ive been looking at this and I dont claim to be an expert but it looks more like a later P26 or P30, the earlier P4 was a lot more "skinnier" bodywise. The tank on top of the engine, is that a fuel tank or coolant tank, was it an optional extra? P4 Model 26 Model 30 You got any contact details yet Tim....?
  2. Link to a Youtube video, a fairly long one at that of a Dutch(?) operation last month. I found it interestin as it got some good footage of the Iltis and some heavily camo'd ones at that attached to Para Recon I believe.
  3. Its an Autovac unit Mike. Kind of like an early fuel pump, works by suction created by the engine unless someone corrects me. The earlier CS8's FATs CDSWs etc had these.

  5. Photos, document scans, help for other people, linking people....
  6. Almost qualifies for a section on its own this thread...
  7. A carrier and an Otter, not clued up on the Otter though.
  8. If you are after a small bit of armour Jack there is a relatively whole Carrier in Joris' part of Europe up for sale. Thanks Niels for the word.
  9. Metal Ready from frosts. Alternatively sell me the ferret!
  10. And judging by the flashy ad his price will be high! Nice looking one though. http://www.munga.fletcherfilms.co.uk/index.html
  11. Munga for sale in this weeks Classic car Weekly. Looks restored, painted in stone, all ready to go, lots of spares, in Lanarkshire. Free UK delivery as well. No price though.
  12. Welcome aboard. Tony B will teach you the secret handshake in between main course and desert and Snapper will get your name engraved on the clubhouse shield. Although I do believe he has used some of the clubhouse funds to purchase a gazebo! If you could bring some firewood up the stairs when you come up that would be appreciated.
  13. You can always find out, just needs a bit of research, and knowing where to look.
  14. This subject comes up every now and then, Im sure it must qualify for a new section now. Do an online search for the medal cards at the national archives online, used to be a free search, then you just pay a couple of quid for a printable copy. That will give basic facts, units etc. Next port of call is the regimental museum, most counties have them.
  15. Grandfather maternal side. WW2 Was with RE attached to OxonBucks (I think).Joined the BEF in 1939 for the ill fated excursion to France. He never got as far as Dunkirk. Faced the full onslaught of the Blitzkrieg and was shipped home with physical injuries and psychological scars that stayed with him for the rest of his life. Diagnosed as shellshock. Never spoke about the war. Paternal Side. WW2 Not much known as yet. Quite high ranking in the merchant navy. WW1 Only know my maternal side history. My great grandfather was the only survivor out of 4 brothers. 3 were killed on the western front between 1916-18. Great grandfather met his future wife, great grandmother, while being treated for his injuries at an aid station, as she was a nurse.
  16. I dont believe it! Thats a tragedy. It was the one in Windscreen Richard, but it looked a damn site better than my C8 when I got it!
  17. PM sent. Been dealing with a 6 month old very snotty son...not pleasant.
  18. Maybe its to do with the lack of roll bars. You make sure you slow down at corners Mark, we dont want you falling out the side!
  19. Nice one Mark, although it doeas resemble a gazebo on wheels somewhat!:cool2:
  20. Nows the time to do a trolley dash, decreasing shopspace to make room for more workshop space! Clear your PMs Jack, unless youve got my pm already. Did you see any of the dancing girls at the steam fair?
  21. Can someone tell Jack to clear his PM folder, as Ive just PMed him and it doesnt seem to be going through because of this.
  22. This could be the truck you are looking for Jack. In the latest issue of Windscreen a Federal truck in Normandy. 600 Euros. The contact man is in Bridport as well. Could be a unique oppurtunity to fulfil your ambition to own an ugly, sorry, classic truck. Not many of these around. You could make it the HMVF project truck?
