  1. Took patterns for the Morris windscreen along to the local glazier.
  2. Is there a time scheduled for the aircraft displays? See you there, sprogs depending, Jack.
  3. Anyone from here going, I will be up there with the Champ.
  4. Anyone going? Anyone been there? Is the Vulcan doing a flypast on Sunday? Are the BBMF doing a flypast? Will anyone give me a ride in their tank if Im up there on Sunday?
  5. Very confused by Tac/Regt badges and insignia here. I was going to start a new thread but carrying on with this. Have painted the Champ in desert colours to recreate an MELF unit, 25th/10th armoured brigade. The HQ badge for Tobruk was a camel on a red and black background, but the badge for the Armd was a wolfs head. It doesnt seem right to show both, which should it have and why??
  6. Welcome aboard Glynn, impressive collection there. Any chance of posting up some pics?
  7. Welcome aboard, enjoy the ride, put your entry fee of hobknobs by the ticket office before you come in!
  8. No worries John, will have a look again tomorrow, in your own time. Have a couple of people interested in her, I will keep you in the loop.
  9. Welcome aboard, leave your parasol in the elephant foot by the door. Any photos to show us?
  10. Hello John, I never found a chassis number stamped on my Morris despite a chassis up rebuild. A chassis plate on the passenger side chassis and a small plate on the bulkhead.
  11. Another one found tonight. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-WAR-DEPARTMENT-AMMUNITION-WICKER-CANE-BASKET_W0QQitemZ170373385453QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Collectables_Militaria_LE?hash=item27ab0b8ced&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  12. New thread, how about this one for starters. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ex-army-emergency-tracheostomy-tracheotomy-set_W0QQitemZ280385720359QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Antiques_Science_RL?hash=item41484a9027&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14
  13. The last pi Les may be a vehicle from the Tobruk HQ. From what I can understand from a bit of research, Tobruk was used by SCLI and their Tac sign was a diamond in the bottom corner of a square with a diagonal running at 40 degrees, may be a "shortened" version of that especially as the camel Tac sign isnt the full sign.
  14. That pic is what I was looking for Les, the one with the camel! Painted on the bumper, unusual I think, but interesting to note the camel faces toward the middle of the Champ, which it should do, despite the original facing toward the outside. Any animal, was changed to face the inboard, or centre of the vehicle. Sad old looking vehicle in Kuno's pics though!
  15. Nice pics Les thanks for that. I like the round Camo nets(?) on the Champ bonnets, bit like the Jordanian head-dress! Done on purpose do you think?
  16. So I assume 16th Para brigade. Any ideas what the diagonal badge would have been?
  17. So I presume the insignia for GHQ Land Forces in middle east, that of the camel in a shield could have been designated to a Champ.
  18. Do you know what regiments were equipped with them Clive? Regt or unit insignia?
  19. Several questions here. There are a few, not many Champs with desert camo scheme on the scene. 1)Has anyone got any pics of them in service, in colour preferably they could post? 2)What units did they serve with and what were the regimental insignia painted on them. 3)Where did they serve, Ive seen pics from Aden, a couple from Suez, anywhre else.
  20. Im going to start a new thread based on this as I was interested in the role of Champs in the desert. Markings, units etc.
  21. Just the Bren, thanks for the offer though.
  22. Thanks Tony, I need the eggsucking advice!
