I'm post war too, I didn't receive the email either.
I've had to re-register as I couldn't sign in, it kept telling me my username didn't exist, shame really as I wanted to look at my PMs, requests for a new password didn't work either, I thought I'd been banned from the forum
I think there is something to this Post War users not getting our emails from "GMC Jack WW11" now is he trying to loss us in the transfer

Hello Ian2B
I have been towing a brock field office converted to a living for a couple of years,I towed it behind my GMC had to alter the braking system on the trailer, but I have never had any problems,I shall be towing it behind my Diamond t 975 this year, will keep the same braking system in place, rather than air they are electronic.
Howard
Hi Howard,
Thanks for the information and that sounds interesting that you have changed the braking system to electric which then makes it better as you dont have to have a towing vehicle with the air brake connections. If you are at war and peace this year i might pop along for a look and some info.

Ok chaps.
So , just to get this buttoned down here is a list of what we would like to see;
Scrapyard rescues
Fleet register of members MVs.
Fleet photo register of members MVs.
Buyers guide - written by those who know :-D
Museum guides.
Dating board I am sure that I can come up with a completely new site for that.
... how about MILWIFE (the boy is a genius) :-D
Some of the above can have their own section of the front page.....
Anymore for anymore?
Cheers
Jack.
Now thats not very pc is it Jack "MILWIFE", should read MIL/WIFE/HUSBAND/PARTNER/OTHER as you never know what an MV owner fancies.
And just for the record no i am not into the "other" category as I live in Essex not Brighton.

Hi Marty,
If you can get a copy of "Wheels and Tracks" issue no 20 they have a 14 page write up on the Dodge 6x6
-
Hi Marty,
According to the book by Bart Vanderveen - Historic Military Vehicle Directory, The WC63 weights 7550 lb, so hope there is someone out there that can convert this to Kgs or tons etc.
-
So it's the daughter that will be following Dad into the MV scene then Ian??????
My daughter and MV's no no no it will be my son that follows unless he finds another interest first "girls" then i could be on my own. Still my daughter was at the fort today guess its a start on the right road but can never see her in any camo gear.
-
Come on Jack where are the pictures.
-
Just showed my 15 yr old daughter and 11yr old son and out of the two it was my daughter that said they looked cool, quess she is just as weird as me.
-
Well done guys it looks good and thank god its back.
-
Come on Rob you know you love all that sweet talking stuff, Hunny :flower:
-
So does Jack now want to be known as Jacqueline, or is that only at the weekends.
-
Now lets not be silly ..........
But I think the SUMB will be going.
...in the MOG?
Now Now boys please bring as many vehicles as you can, the more you bring the better. Plenty of room for a low loader
-
Also make it look good. Have the correct working lighting, tow with an appropriate vehicle, drive considerately etc. etc. and don't give them an excuse to pull you in the first place. :-)
I think thats the best advice, if it looks correct and you drive it properly you have less chance of being stopped.
We towed the trailer from Lancashire to Essex 250 ish miles on the M6, M1, M25 and never got stopped once so must have looked ok when bringing it back.

#Hi Ian.
Mark is away for a week so will let us k ow when he is back - he is struggling as Bodge through a spanner in the works by asking for a pink Polo Shirt
I asked my daughter to get me some T shirts when she was in town, just asked for normal colours like black and blue, and what did she come back with a Pink one and told me it would look good. Its stll hagging up unused not really me.

Lightweight?
If Jack is taking a Lightweight, then I'm not going :-o :-o :-o
Its bad enough having one on the front cover of the recent Windscreen Magazine ;-)
Cds
Now Now Clive nothing wrong with a Lightweight on the cover of windscreen, got to keep us Post War guys happy :-D
Ex-Lightweight Owner

It is confusing but that's to our advantage because your average copper doesn't understand it either. I've been told by traffic cop friends that they'd look the other way if they saw us coming because if they pull you and charge you with something which turns out to be incorrect they are in for the high jump, what with the Human Rights Act etc.
The definition of load or goods and burden is quite restrictive but caravans and living wagons are exempt from a lot of of this. Sorry I don't have the reg's for this as I've never looked into them. Go to the HMSO website and look up the SI's I've already quoted. You'll have to trawl through them though and they are very dull :-(.
I really think you will find your trailer IS of a similar age to your truck ;-).
Sorry I did seam to put the wrong age for my trailer and now know its before 1960.
Well all we can do is wait for the first one to be pulled over using a truck and trailer and let the others know what happened.
I hope to have all my facts ready for when I get pulled and hopefully wont get some smart arse copper.
Hi, just an update

Hi Paul,
Sorry to here things could not be worked out between you two. So now all you can do is move forward and get yourself settled into a new home and move on with your life.
