  4. yeh thats the bit the ferret aint a goods vehicle? so it would suggest v112 doesnt really matter cause both forms will have desired result v112g is the the form r. underwood suggested vosa man,now wondering if hes right? main bit is any ferret is mot exempt cause classed as motor tractor.:-D i know its been discussed i started the thread about mot exemptions which ran to about 40 pages on the forum!
  5. no its a 1964 motor tractor classed as, v112g for goods vehicle exemption v112 for all others ie if your car is less than 3 years old both forms enable u two claim exemptin for ferret v112g = motor tractor, v112 type A = motor tractor i might be splitting hairs !!!
  6. from reading clives emers still best option is to turn engine over by hand first then run for 20 mins at 800rpm this will get it up to operating temp ,grease all suspension keep fuel tank tank topped up u could lift wheels to prevent flat spots but normally first run will get tires round again after a mile or so
  7. obviously with stainless steel its a case of longevity when ferret came out the norm would have been for mild steel silencers ,plus would a mv manufacturer want to sell a product that never needed replacing ,think not!

  9. i would suggest running it for half an hour after ten mins running ,drive back and forth least u r getting wheels gearbox turning , i try to do this every couple of weeks.if really cold turn it over by hand first, and if u want a workout start it by hand have l/h engine deck open so u can get to throttle .!

  16. insurance company in uk adrian flux offer breakdown cover for a year for 32 quid mines combined with my ferret road insurance
  17. looks like most bits r there if u look in engine bay under apex of engine cover u should see small cylindrical container with knurled lid this with luck might contain engine build history.looks like its been up armoured looking at rear hatches
  18. still think u need to look at your car/truck thermostat!!
  19. seen worse as stated flush with water then rad cleaner then refill 50/50 with water blue antifreeze then change it again in 100 miles
  20. R.I.P Bob , reminded me of when my granddad a lewis gunner in ww1 passed away . re american / german reinactors as spike milligan once said the british tommy looked like a bag of sh.. tied in the middle hence the so called cool looking german american reinactors ,broad brush i know.
