  1. had my Defender insured with Sureterm direct for over fifteen years till last year, when they they doubled the quote .I rang them and was told they no longer wanted to quote my postcode.OL9 and it was their way of putting me off.Full no claims vehicle immobilised and watched by cctv ,No thanks!!.The Champ is with Adrian Flux and it has crept up and its lucky to do 700 miles a year.
  2. Driver .Driven for a living since passing my test over thirty years ago.Recently 8 wheel hook bodies ,but after 3 months out of work .I start for Stagecoach on Monday.Fancy going back coach driving though.
  3. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-ARMY-LAND-ROVER-VEHICLE-FIRST-AID-KIT-IN-TIN-/370689958928?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item564ed7e410 i have one of these in mine.
  4. Have you tried the Champ owners club?.On the members pages there are wiring diagrams and illustrations.
  5. Welcome and I know what you mean about particular mv,s tugging at the heartstrings.I have a Champ but I have a hankering for a Ferret or a Fox.Maybe soon one of them will come my way.
  6. My neighbour has a Champ with these markings.Dont know if its original. My Champ had white edges to the bumpers as per BAOR.
  7. There is a video of me in third reverse overtaking the Shortland on the back straight cant wait to see it.Like you said Steve made to feel very welcome by everyone.I,m supposed to be at Gawsworth hall Bank Holiday Monday depends on money and how the Champs behaving.
  8. A couple of pictures from local Sunday playday.
  9. I know that at least one member of the series 2 Landrover club has one thats under restoration.I think the Belgians used them as well.
  10. They are doing .The new driver CPC for PCV and LGV drivers is on going driver training 35 hrs must be completed every five years.
  11. I went first time I,ve gone. Not sure if I will make a 250mile round trip again though.I met up with the Champ owners which was a highlight. As someone said so many people wandering aimlessly struggled to look at stalls. How many machine guns was there for sale??. I,ve never seen so many.I was smiling when I saw the price of a SMLE I got offered one the other week converted to .410 cartridge for £55.At least I could use that one.I thought some stalls were silly prices ,one wanted £20 for a new beret ,whilst another one had the same make for £8.It definately paid to check everything twice.
  12. Yes I,ve joined the Champ club great bunch of people.I dont think there are any after market heaters for them as I dont think there is anywhere to take heater pipe of the engine block.I,ve never seen a hardtop like that one the way the screen is shaped looks to me like its off another vehicle.
