Just arrived home, quite tired.
It was marvelous and want to thank a lot of people, so take a chair.
Jack, Jim and Adrian for the main organisation.
Broadmayne Steve amongst a lot for the school trip.
Jacqui, Jouw nederlands is prima,nu de rest nog...
Mack-Steve (damn, forgot your wifes name:blush:) for the tea in the truck
Robert for returning me to camp
The AA halftrack guys for returning my medic bag, sorry I wandered off.
Julian and Sam for sharing a meal. (any helmet dreams yet?)
Richard and Rosie for the laughs.
Ken for introducing me to Nigel.
Wargaming.net for the sponsorship.
The despatch riders for keeping us moving through traffic.
All those who helped organise it, people I talked with and many more made it a very enjoyable trip.
Now I know I must have forgotten a few of you, I met so many people so thanks and sorry.

Surely no-one's really surprised about this are they?
Anniversary years only count when they end in a 0 or a 5, for media purposes - that's when the 'VIPs' turn out and, hence, the TV cameras.
Veterans - they're still around, but (of course) getting frailer and thinner on the ground. Guess we'll see the last of them pass on in the next decade or so. The very youngest of them will be in their late 80s already.
But - their glory shall not be blotted out!
The last months several veterans we knew passed away.
Unavoidable offcourse but still sad.
At least we MV enthousiasts, re-enacters and history buffs remember.

I plan to arrive on Thursday so roll out the Red carpet and put the kettle on.
BTW, on Wednesday I will drive from Dover to Southhampton via the motorway...In case of a breakdown could I call someone on route? PM please.
I have a modern car but you never know.
-
Absolutely!
Thanks Sir. :saluting:

So, does that mean that 'Kettenrad' really means 'chains wheels' ?
trevor
I guess its Tracked motorcycle would be better.
Ketten is tracks and Krad a abreviation of Kraftfahrrad, more or less a motorcycle.

Neil......see my entry above. I dont think you will be receiving any entry packs. I think all you get is what you can print online.....your receipt.
From the website;
The paperwork and passes for all exhibitors will be sent out during June.

Painted a while ago;
"Fibre rim" type made from a RAC shell.
New liner and aged straps.

I agree with you Bob but in view of your comment why not show where you are located?

I'm not green from envy...

Looks like a good event with some nice vehicles.
I'd love to have my own kettenkrad, only have to win the lottery or find a wealthy woman.

The non-lethal accidents would at least neccesitate a changing of undergarments...

Tyre;
Don't forget to check the inside of the tyre for debris a nail or similar.
Its no fun installing a new inner tube, inflating and finding out someting was in the tyre.
And not only check the inside but also from the outside.
On my bicycle....(hey,no laughing in the back) I patched the innertube several times and it leaked in the same place but I could feel nothing on the inside of the outer tyre.
It turned ou to be a small piece of iron. It couldn't be felt on the inside but when driving it got pushed in, puncturing the inner tube.
Annoying on a bicycle but mega annoying on a tyre like yours.

How about a Dutchman?
(Althought I won't bring a MV I may try to persuade a tankowner to take me along)

Offcourse I know about the CJ's used by the Dutch in the Dutch Indies...
But you know what I meant, although it is kinda to the point, what is a real/correct MV?
The Mahindra in WW2 setting was the better of the 2 examples I mentioned.
