  1. Hello Mark, It's the March issue ( no.58 ) As anyone else noticed the "spelling mistake" on the front cover? ( well, if you're being picky, it's the wrong word rather than a spelling mistake) Regards Richard
  2. Hello Mick and Tyler Mick, For posting pictures have a look at this http://www.hmvf.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=98 I think Tylers idea of using pictures of different types of vehicles on the logo is brilliant. But, I tried doing something along those lines and it was very cluttered, I think it needs to be simple line drawings of vehicles ( simular to EMLRA's logo) . I did try a very simple logo with T.E.A.M in large letters in the middle with THE EASTERN ARMY MOB in a circle around it, all in a nice green and black camo colour. But my desk top publisher want let me save it as a JPeg file and then I can't send it or post it. I'll keep working on it to see if I can display it on here. Regards Richard
  3. It's a Stalwart!! You don't need bridges if you've got Stalwart! Regards Richard
  4. No, if they can't reply about an enquiring to someone about joining, you wonder what happens when you need them for a break down. I don't know why firms publish an email address if they don't reply to them. Regards Richard
  5. Hello Tyler, I think that looks good. Hang on, where did that Ferret come from!!! Regards Richard
  6. Hello Neil, I honestly don't know, I would think they would use a low-loader rather than a suspended tow. But thet don't say anything about it on their website do they? Hello Dougy, I'm know nothing of vehicle electrics or 432's, but I was at Marcus Glenns once while he was having a problem with the charge light staying on on a 432. It turned out to be a problem with a connecting cable between two of the control boxes. The cable looked perfect, not a trace of damage anywhere, but replacing it for a known good one (easy when you've got a yard full) cured the problem. This might not be your problem but since I saw this I tend to check the cable itself aswell as all the joints/connecters when I get an electical problem. Regards Richard
  7. Oh good, I liked TEAM the most aswell! The A Team would have been quite cool, but Tyler would have had to paint his Shorland black with a red stripe and we'd all have had to burst out of the back when we got to a show! Regards Richard (I ain't gettin` on no plane, fool! )
  8. Tyler, Are you going to get a minor celebrity to do the draw and broadcast it live via webcam? Regards Richard ( I think Eamon Holmes is available  )
  9. Hello, Ah well, the POA plan didn't work! Must have been less than 45 minutes before the first "I am interested in your kar" email came Matt, if I was looking to buy something I would never tell someone over the phone, without viewing it, that I would buy it and collect on a set date. Nor, if I was selling something would I take off sale until the money was in my pocket. I have just had too many people who "are definitely coming and please don't sell it until I get there", who never turn up! Whenever I go to view a vehicle I always take a sizeable cash deposit. If the vehicle is what I want, I pay the deposit and then arrange for collection, ideally within a few days. If I don't want the vehicle I say "it's not what I'm looking for and thank you for your time". Being self-employed and working 6 days a week it often takes a while for me to go and view a vehicle, when this is the case I explain this to the seller and say if it sells in the mean time all well and good. I've never told anyone not to sell a vehicle before I've seen it. The points about the seller's descriptions is also very valid. I've been to look at vehicle's which are said to be fully restored and on the button. And when you get there they're rotten old things that need a full restoration. To my mind a full restoration is nothing sort than a full strip down of every component before being rebuilt with new bearings, seals etc. and a full quality respray. I describe my ZIL as been refurbished i.e. components that are faulty are repaired and those that are good are serviced and left alone. If you look up Restore and Refurbish in a dictionary you'll see what I mean. I strongly believe that a vehicle can not be restored with just a tin of paint! Regards Richard
  10. Hello Tyler and Matt I placed an ad last night on Milweb for the ZIL ( as of 10.45am today it's not on yet) and I put POA. The reason I did this is in the past when I've put the price the only response I've had has been from people in "BongoBongo land" offering more than the asking price , (you all know the scam!) or people offering £200 less than the asking price. It doesn't matter what price I put on it, it's always £200 less! I don't know, maybe I'll get just as many scammer's as before, I'll have to see. As for Matt's experience of someone selling an item after a sale was agreed that is very bad, but I've had people agree to by something, I've then turned away other interested parties only never to hear from the buyer ever again. From now on the item is for sale until it's paid for in full and collected. A bit hard and I know that if the item is along way away it takes time to arrange viewing/collecting but being in business ( not MV's) we've had too many people say they're coming, even ring up and say they're on the way, and then they don't turn up! I've seen lots of stuff "re-advertised due to time waster" and after going to see lot's of perspective purchase's I've often thought about putting an advert "still looking due to timewaster" but you know, learn by your mistakes and so on. Regards Richard
  11. Hello, I'm more confused than ever! :? These are the picture's of it from CMV, The first picture without question is "Mally" and I'm presuming that the other 2 are also of it. I'm thinking the 2 "unregistered pictures" are publicity photo's, note the pristine AEC badge which is over painted on the later picture. We know that Mally was unregistered for a year and then spent 10 years with the Fighting Vehicle Reach and Devolvement Unit as a demonstrator to foreign governments. But I don't fully understand the 47, or the 4332 I keep saying I'll contact CMV to see if they have any other photos of it. Regards Richard
  12. Thanks Clive, Whats FAC? Regards Richard
  13. Hello Clive, I've always wonder what the numbers are on my Militant, on both doors is 1/3 RHA which I presume is 3rd Royal Horse Artillery. But on the front it has a 46 on it, what is this for? But, there's picture's of it in CMV Magazine of it when it was a demonstrator and it has a large 47 on the doors and I haven't got a clue what that's for! Cheers Richard
  14. Yeah, good idea! I still haven't been able to think of anything whitty though. Cheers Richard
  15. I think I could see some MV's on show from the road aswell, their website is http://www.midlandairmuseum.co.uk/ looks well worth a visit. Getting back to Stonleigh, other than Steve, Berni and Rowan ,who I didn't see , did any one else go? Regards Richard
  16. Thats it, I couldn't remember their name. Cheers Richard
  17. Hi Tyler, It was at an Air Museum on part of Coventry Airport. Next time we're that way we'll stop and have a look round. Cheers Richard
  18. Hello, Well we didn't see any HMVF badges or Berni's shoes for that matter  Will have to arrange a HMVF meeting point for future events me thinks. Good event though, especially if your into Jeeps or WW2 stuff... which I'm not :? Cheers Richard Ps. saw my favourite thing of all time on the way there , a Vulcan!
  19. Hello Tyler, You got it then, it looks a nice truck. Regards Richard
  20. Hello, It's held on a Tuesday evening, either the first or second one of the month, but I can't remember which. It's like an un-organised get together which has got bigger and bigger, upto 1000 vehicles sometimes. Apparently, every type of vehicle turns up, from Halftracks to Super Cars. I'll try and find out more details. Cheers Richard
  21. Hello Rob and welcome, I've been told there is a very large monthly vehicle meet (all types) at Ashby in Leicestershire, do you know of it? I keep saying I'll go but never get round to it. Regards Richard
  22. Hello Chris, I've never brought anything from Frosts but they look like they have some very good products. I'll have to try them. Cheers Richard
  23. Hello Tyler, Not yet, but it was leaking standing still, so it's alot better than it was. Cheers Richard Ps. How's the Shorland coming along?
