I think you will find there are not that many avaliable, and the turrreted variants do sell very quickly. There was a Sabre on milweb on Friday which is sold already.
Engines - make sure you have a spare.
Track, Roadwheels etc - if they are worn out you will have to spend a lot to replace them all. You will need spare wheels anyway.
Gearbox - Expensive if it goes wrong.

Mark,
The owner's identity is no secret, just look at the entry list in the W&P programme, or the list of prizewinners on the website.
Incidentally, talking of prize winners, how can a Panzer IV and M5A1 Stuart, win 1st and 2nd prizes in a category for "Best British Tracked Armour" ?? When I judged that class some years ago, I only looked at vehicles Made in Britain. The following year, someone else judged, and awarded it to a Chaffee !!!
In 2009 my Sabre was runner up in the Best British Tracked Armour category. The winner was an M3 Stuart built in the USA and imported from Brazil. I think the judges need reminding what they are judging.

My view as I pitched up in Big Monktons
You could be forgiven for mistaking it for the caravan show.

They are Ferret. LV9ASC/2520-99-815-6789 Housing, Inner Tracta Fork.

The show is officially open Wed - Sun, and arena events etc take place all day every day. Movement around the site is limited during the day (9 till 6) to vehicles going to or from the arena. After 6 it's like the M25, with vehicles driving round everywhere. Monday and Tesday are very chilled out relaxing/setup days.

To be honest I don't know? The guy that had this halftrack on his land got loads of stuff but he don't actually own a great deal of it. It was there the first time I went to see the halftrack. It was pushed into the field and left, I think in had engine or gear box problems. When I went back over Friday to pick the halftrack up, it was gone.
Let me know if you ever hear of it coming up for sale!

What's the story with the CVR(T) Samson in the background of the hedge photos?

That's just annoying.
Tow them away. :-D
I might just park a CVRT on top!

Ok, Lee. See what you mean.
We'll see next sunday what's left.
Looks like we've lost our usual spot too due to low loader issues, I will be annoyed if the people who have taken it turn up with just one jeep...!

They are AFV crewmans coveralls! There should be handles on each shoulder to aid casualty evacuation.

How much will one of these carry? Presumeably a saracen would be happy enough on one?
Really nice toys you have by the way,
Also, will a foden carry more?
Cheers

we was debating that today funnily enough and your guess is as good as ours, obviously for some reason and are all equaly spaced
Is that where the joins were when the track was made up from sections? Are there yellow connectors on the hull side of the other track?

Chris,
I think you might be refering to the more modern cup plugs. The Jeep has Welch plugs, the dished type with ground edge, when hit it the centre it locks in.
Litchy,
Sealer needs to be something like Stag or Red Hermetite. Problem is that the seat in the block or head can become pitted and not easy to seal.
You're right Richard, I've not worked on a Jeep engine. I used Red Hermetite on my M151 engine.

Make sure the surface it seats into is clean, scrape out any rust, put some gasket sealer on the edge and stick it in. Using a hammer and a drift go around the edge knocking it in a bit at a time and ensure it goes in square.

If registered as a farm vehicle can you run on red diesel?
There is no need to run one on red diesel, with the multifuel engine they can run on contaminated (water/diesel mix) from recovery companies. We have owned 2 FV432s, one of them I registered for the road and did drive it on the road. I did not enjoy the experience, the width is an issue as is the drivers hatch sticking up in the air preventing you from seeing to the left. The thing I dislike most is that you have to steer and stop with the same levers. Pull them both back to stop. If they are not correctly adjusted, or you pull one back further than the other it will not stop straight. They are great fun off road though, and with free fuel you can play all day, or untill the tracks fall off.
If you want something a bit more road friendly then a CVR(T) is the way to go. They are more expensive, but with good reason. Compared to an FV432 they are tiny, but vision, manouverabilty and handling is far better than a FV432.
