With those last few jobs done, levels checked, wheel nuts torqued up and it was ready for its first outing.
We were asked to provide a few vehicles for a local armed forces day show in Ripley, Derbyshire. In total the Scimitar did around 30 miles on the roads over the weekend, it runs and drives well but the handbrake drags a bit causing some smoke. I will back it off next weekend, give it a clean and then it's ready for a trip to Folkestone. See you there!

We haven't left the EU yet.

Your not the guy who loads up for War and Peace each year in Stanton ironworks are you? I live in Kirk Hallam and work on quarry hill industrial estate and the guy opposite me has a CVRT and a Stolly.
Small World isn't it
Yes, that's us, the guy opposite you is also a friend of mine!

Hi Tom,
I have a 43 GPW in need of a lot of work in my parents garage round the corner from you in Sandiacre. Welcome to HMVF.

If I had more time maybe, trying to get everything ready for W&P at the moment.

There's actually another armed forces day in Ripley on 2/3 July. We are taking some CVRTs.

Running out of days, but at least the list is getting shorter!
Rarden Cannon mocked up and now painted.
Today I was able to get a coat of green on everything, finally got rid of the yellow bits!
Number plates made too, still got turret bin armour to finish off and some rear reflectors, and the seats etc inside.
Looking forward to getting this done and actually drive it. Next project is already waiting quietly in the background.

To answer your other question, if unsure about the history of the cam belt best bet is to change it.
-
I have never seen one of those before, surprised you were able to get that.

Sounds like you need to invest in this:

Around 1990/1991. I have the mod instruction somewhere, I'll have to look it up.

I think it's to connect a respirator to the NBC system

Bracket 3, when not bent, is for the handle of the shovel. It should be an L shape.

Got to be worth a go. I've got merlin reports for everything I've asked for.
-
Did you ask for the Merlin report? I've never heard of them not having anything for fairly recent vehicles.

Hi Joe,
Do you know the military registration numbers of your vehicles?

Quite right. However when I joined I am sure that I was asked where I was located/address, so why was it not shown?
Anyway would the admin please entre; Ashton in Makerfield Lancashire.
Bob,
You need to click the my profile link in the top right corner, then go to the ' about me' tab and change the location. I tried to do it for you but it won't let me.
