  1. Did you synchronise the points as per the manual? Was the condensor a new one or one which has been in a box for years? Also check the mixture screws, remember there are 2 of them and you must do exactly the same thing to both of them.

Have you left it to warm up? Does it do the same thing when warm? Those tubes Richard talks about should expand and close up any gaps when warm.

  2. Pete Gaine has a lot of experience in restoring Bedfords & finding bits. He is usually as at most shows including Beltring. Can be identified as having lots of EMERs :-P for sale.

    Clive,

I don't entirely agree with you there... he's more identifiable as the bloke in a top hat!

  3. Bumped in to Mark on Saturday, nice guy, thanks to his mate, sorry I'm terrible with names, for unloading Chris McMillan's CVR(T)'s today, just popped home to tidy up a few loose ends then back to Beltring until the end of the show..

Thanks again Lee, I hope they behaved ok. They can be a bit of a bugger to do tight turns in when cold!

  4. We always take trips out to the supermarkets nearby to pick up supplies, or visit the local chippy if we can't be bothered. The show food is expensive, and after a few days gets very boring. It always helps to have a military Land Rover so you can slip in and out of the show during the day un-noticed!

  5. Lee,

If none of the surplus dealers (Ramco, Jacksons, Withams or Vass) can help, you could always try ATS. They deal with truck tyres, and they are a standard size and pattern, so you never know! They saved my Ferret the other week by stocking the correct inner tubes...!

  6. Lee,

No not yet - had the Spartan in bits the last few days. New oil, filters, tune up and a new nyloc nut to stop the fan from making a horrible noise. Now thats ready for the low loader to Beltring we can get back on with the Fox again. This afternoons job - change the servo :S

  7. Lee,

I am not sure how it happened, probably partly due to lack of use (10 years outside) and partly due to a stuck servo. When we first connected it up we connected it to the coolant system by mistake. We tested it it and it seemed fine so we left it, but bought a spare incase this happened. We have a new servo on the shelf, and will be fitting it when we rebuild the cylinders and put in some new pads.

Where did you get the seals from? I've asked Richard Banister, but am going to see if they are standard commercial items before buying.

    Chris
