Jack,
Lee got it in one, yes they are excellent. So good infact that crews of pretty much all armoured vehicles use them if they can get hold of them.
Check out ebay item # 8831448116

Just a word of warning, I am using the new Internet Explorer 7. So far no problems with any sites, but it doesn't like HMVF at all:
Also I can't log in to use the gallery, even in Firefox?
Cheers,

Hi Folks,
I've updated the Fox website (http://www.cvrw.co.uk) and put a new owners page up. If anyone on here has a Fox, or knows of one, which isn't listed please let me know. If you send me the details and a picture I'll add it to the list. Eventually I will update the rest of the site, but I have been a bit busy recently:
Cheers,
Chris

Probably not the best way to do this, but this is how I did mine:
First make sure all the clutch hydraulics are good, I replaced both cylinders and bled the system. Then make sure all the brakes are good. Put it on axle stands, then start the engine in top gear 4wd. Rev it so that you're getting a good turn of speed at the wheels, I think I had about 40 on the speedo. Then press the clutch in and hit the brakes. Hopefully the brakes will lock the wheels and the clutch will be free. It worked for me straight away, although the noise was a little bit scary! (I used 4 axle stands and several jacks, you do not want it falling off and then going straight into whatever it in front)

I wrote something for CMV but it's still not been published due to the other magazine running a similar article. :-(
It appears though that the other magazine didn't even read their own article, which was about telling the difference between various CVRTs since they always get them wrong! :?

Does any one actually make covers for our type of vehicle??
Quite a few vehicles have a cover listed in the CES. If you're lucky you can find one and they're very handy. I have the correct cover for the Spartan and it's excellent, all the ropes tie down exactly where you'd want them to.

why does that Pig have a Smoke launcher on its wing?
With quite a lot of the people who attend W&P anything is correct as long as it looks 'cool'.... look at all the Sand & Green Mk 2 Pigs driving around last year.
The people who annoy me most though, and a lot of people can annoy me, are the people with either no vehicles and a huge camp in the Americas field, or that lot with the M38A1 (look out for them, you'll see it driving around the stalls when it shouldn't be) with big suspension, huge tyres and US Army stenciled on the side. It looks daft and they have no military tents etc but take up more space than us. I guess the only reason they are there is because they pay, but it's not really fair to those of use who make the effort....
Rant over!

I was crusing around in the sunshine for the hell of it in my Spartan the other day, it was while the world cup was on and the roads were deserted. I'm sure the 7 people in the back had a much more enjoyable time than watching the football

Mark,
Thanks for that... Lee has offered to rope us off an area in the Americas field, so we will be on one of the main drags in there if that works out.

Mark,
Who can I contact to arrange a reserved space for our group? We always arrive on the Monday, last year we got there, set up our tents etc and were told we had to move. We were then put in a stupid place in the middle of the field down some tiny tracks. Not useful when we had 2 CVRTs to move backwards and forwards to the arena. This year we have a 432, the CVRTs again, a Ferret and a Fox plus the softskin vehicles. We'd like to reserve a space if at all possible, especially as we like to do all the arena events.
Cheers,
Chris

Yes but my point is that he is grouping together very different vehicles. He might as well just write 'Tank' and a price!

I agree, Windscreen is the best read. I just buy the others for the pictures. Military machines is a rubbish magazine, most of what they write it wrong, the rest is Land Rovers, and of that most of it is wrong or not really applicable, e.g. prototypes. They even stick pictures of tender sales in to fill up pages. CMV is better, I like the modern stuff (70's, 80's) but I think there needs to be a balance, and that is hard to achieve. They manage much better than the other lot...
My personal gripe.. the price guide. It's a load of rubbish. You can't rely on it, so many other factors are involved... for instance they put CVR(T) and a price. Anyone who knows the CVR(T) price market will know a nice Sultan can be had for about £8000 but a Scorpion might be £18000. How can you just divide the price up between the number of vehicles and assume it means anything?!?

Book in as a vehicle exhibitor, park up in the show fields and stick your tent up next to your vehicle. You'll need to get there early in the week though, towards the end of the week the place is usually full and they're sticking people on any spare bit of grass in any of the fields!

Buster,
It is not too far from the stalls and quite near to the arena. We camped there once, about 7 years ago!

Buster,
I have a 432 for sale at the moment. General maintenance isn't too bad and the spares can be found quite easily. If you find a good one (like mine  ) you won't need to take the powerpack out for a long time, if ever. In the army they generally pull the pack to service it, but you can get to pretty much everything with it in place. The biggest problem with taking the pack out is that it has to go up a long way before it comes out, so you need a big crane.
Have a look at my advert in the for sale section, and if you want to know more give me a shout.

If you want an easy and cheap restoration project try a Series 3 Lightweight. If you can find a fairly good, oringinal one you should be able to get it on the road without spending too much. Most of the parts are around and are not too expensive. I restored my Ferret when I was 18

Degsy,
I need one from an MK to go on the tow bar for my Spartan. If you still have it how much do you want for it?

Kemble Break Downs!
in MV Chatter
Posted
Did everyone who went have a good weekend?
We seem to have had some pretty bad luck when taking vehicles to Kemble, and the luck struck again for us this time. The Fox was booked in, but the brakes locked on and caught fire on Wednesday and we couldn't rebuild them in time. I took the Ferret instead but ended up picking up 2 punctures on the way down. I don't use run flats, and have never had a puncture before! Luckily ATS in Cirencester had some inner tubes, and Paul with the Scammell Explorer had a Ferret split rim tyre changing kit so we were able to sort it out. My mates K2 Canteen truck died on the way home too, luckily not far from home. I wonder how busy roadsure were this weekend, anyone else break down?
