  1. After changing the spark plugs it flew home.
  2. Yes.. see my previous post for a tested solution.
  3. I will endevour to bring the Ferret down again, got that jump lead handy Chris?
  4. Big aren't they! I have a turret wiring harness and some final drive hub nuts if anyone needs them...!
  5. Paul, 90%+ of the bits on your Rover are standard items. Try http://www.paddockspares.com for bits. Chris
  6. I've got a few videos on there, what do you need Jack? Chris
  7. Airfix and climbing on tanks as a kid got me started. Dad used to build models and used to take me and my brother to musems and put us on/in tanks. About 10 years ago we went to Beltring and got fed up of walking whilst everyone else was driving, so started with a Champ, but I always wanted a Ferret. We don't like rust, or bodywork, so playing with armour is good as they're basically big kits. We just collect the bits and build 'em! Chris
  8. Swarfega do a very god drive cleaner. Have a read here: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/products/203335/driveway_cleaners.html Chris
  9. Correct, it's a Champ. Whats it worth? I'd say £200-300 or so if it's complete. There's a lot of work there, and lots of non standard bits. Try http://www.austinchamp.com Chris
  10. David, The Sterling bayonet has a much larger hole in the mounting lug than the SLR bayonet, they are different part numbers. Look for a Jungle Carbine bayonet (£££) as that will fit your Sterling. Chris
  11. Yes, I have lots of wiring diagrams. I guess you need one which shows you how to wire up an instrument panel?
  12. Our tracks seemed to gain an inch or so of tension with the mud removed, the mud is very heavy, so I'd clean it and see what it looks like first. Have you sorted that lean out yet?
  13. The J60 doesn't use the same filter as the B series, it uses a unique filter which seems to be difficlt to get hold of! It looks like this:
  14. Maybe, but it could have happened while driving back from the low loader. The damper was encased in thick dry mud, we had to dig it out, so I suspect it wouldn't have moved much. I have a couple of spares, but it looks like I may need some more...!
  15. Does anyone have any idea if I could convert my J60s to a standard spin on filter in this way? Chris
  16. I cleaned mine off, found this... it should be straight!
  17. I don't know how many of you have seen the original 1960s sales brochure for the CVRT series of vehicles, but while looking through our Beltring photos something caught my eye which reminded me of it! http://www.sirhc.co.uk/scorp1.jpg[/img] http://www.sirhc.co.uk/scorp2.jpg[/img] Chris
  18. Here's a military training poster which gives an idea of how they work: http://www.sirhc.co.uk/Smoke.jpg'>http://www.sirhc.co.uk/Smoke.jpg'>http://www.sirhc.co.uk/smoke.jpg[/img] To see this in more detail: http://www.sirhc.co.uk/Smoke.jpg Chris
  19. How about filling them with resin or concrete?
  20. Simon, Jacksons has a Belgian Spartan. The Belgian Spartan and Scorpion are quite common, I've even seen a Samson & Striker, but not a Sultan? :dunno: Mechanically they're identical, although this one has an early type engine mount, which I'll swap over to the later one. Are you interested in buying it? ;-) Chris
  21. Maybe, they may insit that the tubes are cut, holes drilled or filled in some way, but they totally miss the point. The tubes are just bits of tube, any machine shop could knock up new ones very quickly on a lathe. It really is a big fuss about nothing. How many people have been injured in the last 20 years by a smoke grenade fired from a privatley owned military vehicle?
  22. Just got back and unloaded, over 12 hours later than expected, but at least it was the right day! Left quite a trail of mud on the couple of miles of lanes between here and the pickup point  Chris
  23. I hate that Ferret. Please someone buy it and strip it for spares, otherwise it'll just keep getting sold on to the next sucker.... Unless Mr Spood fancies another challegne?
