  1. But does the "Exhibitors Information Booklet" that we will be given when we arrive & required to sign that we will adhere to, contain any other obligations I wonder? The safety rules seem perfectly reasonable, but I would just like to know the full list of our obligations in the Exhibitors Information Booklet before arriving or indeed before submitting an entry.
  2. Shunt box fuse 5920-99-222-2369 for those with a 90A charging system It appears that the XMOD has ONE. A lot cheaper than through Land Rover dealers! http://www.thexmod.com/item_detail.asp?id=26490
  3. No, because you agree to it by signing the T&C when you enter the show ground :undecided:
  4. Yes 1965 is the earliest plastic British water carriers I have seen after looking for some 30 years. I have two dated 1965, a black one & green one (green cap). Occasionally you will see 1964 in peuce green but the give away is that the NCB is not 99 but 66 (Australia), of those I have never seen anything earlier.
  5. This is the RAF Data Sheet. I have Minivan as well also EMERs for both.
  6. I was recently on the RAOC forum & a poster stated that in 1970 the ex-RUC Pigs were given Army registrations & served until circa 1974 then passed to Longmoor Camp, Hampshire as training aids. I pointed out that they were registered in the sequence 27 BT 89 - 27 BT 98 and struck off at regular intervals from 1980-94. The poster was very certain that he was correct. As most of the ex-RUC Pigs were re-bodied & up-armoured, it occurs to me that it may be the outer carcasses that ended up at Longmoor. I just wonder if anyone has any photos of such wrecks they could share to confirm the fate of these bodies? Even a partial shot or a piece of armour may be identifiable as there were 57 differences between an ex-RUC FV1609 & an Army Mk 1 FV1611.
  7. Oh dear, mistaken identity! Why doesn't he buy a programme or read the information board? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/restored-military-vehicle-photo-Daimler-armoured-car-/281911013272?hash=item41a334af98:g:h1kAAOSw-zxWmjiI
  8. I have the Data Summary for the missile supply truck that includes all the racks with 9 missiles & that is 5 tons (imperial) But no unladen weight given.
  9. 3,819 kg in UHB but that doesn't specify if it includes winch, although this will be a bit lighter as it has an aluminium rear body.
  10. Humber 1 Ton GS on Milweb http://www.milweb.net/webvert/a1695 Looks good, nice to see a decent cab & rear body. Price not unreasonable, you just have to google "Price of Series 1 Land Rover" to find a spread for a decent one £20-40k. That puts this price in perspective, similar era, a lot rarer & more useful particularly as a show vehicle. (No its not mine!)
  11. Is this not the mounting bracket for a steering damper? The one used would depend on LHD or RHD. Axe holder? Was such a thing ever an embellishment on British Special Forces vehicles?
  12. I can't see that they would want to paint it green/black to mimic the foliage of NE Europe in the Gulf? PS I am assuming the base colour is faded NATO Green?
  13. A few things make me suspicious. 1. As seems to be the case it is 1/3 black & 2/3 green, but the black was required to be over corners to help blur them out. Here we have tiger stripes not covering the corners. 2. Two layers of IRR paint were required to get the proper IRR effect. It looks as if perhaps there is only one layer where it has chipped revealing yellow underneath. 3. The Union Flag decal has faded terribly I have never seen an original 3M decal fade quite like that. So it suggests it is perhaps a reproduction item. 4. At the rear the Union Flag decal should be on the other side. This may not be a valid criticism as today about a quarter of in service vehicles have one of the decals in the wrong place in contradiction to the Road Transport Regulations.
  14. ERM = Equipment Registration Mark, which in this case is the military registration Asset Code is a management code for defining the vehicle type exactly If Geoff is on the case you are in very expert hands.
  15. Ok Lauren. I'm not against the show or the new owners, who are to be congratulated for having the courage to take it on. I probably will go, as for me it represents good value. But just wish things were a bit more open & I would have thought the news section of their website would be an ideal place for us to read about the improvements they will provide & the terms under which we will be expected to abide in advance of attendance.
  16. I did email several months ago & had no response :undecided:
  17. Do you have the ERM or Asset Code? This should help define its role.
  18. I was wondering if Item 4 was relevant. Lacock, oh yes please its quite a unique event with a very good public IQ.
  19. Not much detail I'm afraid John, but there are some Land Rover numbers & NSNs in the Wolf ISPL.
  20. I would have thought that the show website would be the place to post new information, general policies (with reasons if need be) together with the terms & conditions we would be required to sign once we get there. At present there are just snippets from a magazine, bits from facebook & a motorcycle forum. If you look at the news section on the show website it is blank. It would seem to be the obvious place to inform us & quash incorrect rumours. So things could be stated first hand without snippets here & there having to be passed on, maybe out of context, giving an unintended meaning.
  21. Item 3;- one of the many scams in getting your mates in !!! having sat at booking in all day
  22. I have put up a new version: http://www.shorlandsite.com/images/Shorlands,%20Humbers,%20Fire%20&%20Trakmark%20Article%202016-v2.pdf The problem was I conducted these tests in the summer then lost my records for the temperature, so relied on my memory. I have since found the records, yes on the back (& front) of an old envelope! I have adjusted the temperatures accordingly. I had forgotten that I managed to get the Trakmark up to 300 deg C & it still didn't drip or collapse, just went hard & crusty.
  23. No, its only if you belong to either of these two clubs. Item 14 ;- just clear up this point the scams do not all point towards the IMPS it applies to MVT also both as bad as each other
