That's the aim as was never happy looking at it, as said only noticed when sorting the rest of the electrics sorted, it was originally tucked behind the number plate frame, need to check length of wire in case sorting it and cutting a wire will make it 2 short, just measured the wire and looks like 6mm diameter

Thanks for the offer, the more I look at it the more I realise is been a repair, I think some one else at the Penman Factory when i was getting a bit said something similar about replacing the whole wiring system.

Got it apart and cables are different length, What is missing once I get it sorted is the thick rubber shrink wrap to seal it, have some thin shrink wrap.

Yes that's my thinking as an after fit, maybe when the number plate light went? going to have a better look latter, but as you say can get a replacement if needed

That looks like them, its the one on the left I need to shorten the cable, looking at the picture i wonder if there is a way to open the existing to sort?

Having I think found the short on the number plate light I am stumped trying to find a source for the cable and connector, I have looked in the manual but no part is distinctly identified. As can be seen from the picture the wire has been stripped back at some point, which is where the water is entering the system, I think. Can anyone help with the name of it, it is soldered onto the light fitting which I can do, its getting the part I need help with. The other thing i noticed was some one had painted the light reflector white.

Have to say the Navy Lark should not be overlooked

I have hauled the thing out of the store, i had the original paperwork in it, looked in the fuel tank used i think only for a test run all spares are there. As far as i can tell it was originally DBG the layers show a blue where scrapped, then a matt green which definitely was painted by hand with a brush. The question, why the dark blue?

Robin Been away all week so looked at it again, I am a member of the classic stove forum as well, one gent posted pictures and as far as i could tell i had everything correctly installed, looking this morning i noticed the washer he had was flush with the metal traveller, looked at mine and inside its holding tube, there is a ridge in the tube where the thread finishes, cut my washer plumb and it now works. Carried out a pressure test and small bubbles coming through the pressure valve in the filler cap, need to look at that again. Having fun though, small victories

Robin The way it looks to me is the spring pushes the grommet to seal the pump unless pressure is applied whi h is pushing the grommet away to let air into the tank, grommet may not be the most accurate description

I have just started on servicing my MoD stove collection, I have a No2 Modified stove and after checking all washers etc were shrivelled and bone dry. After replacing all washers rubbers etc, using a kit form Fettle Box I started reassembling; Pump pressures with finger over end, spring in small brass tube moves and all holes are clear, however the pump does not pressurise once hand tight, if I loosen it slightly the air goes down the thread and escapes, this I feel would allow the diesel into the pump if left. Any clues would be appreciated, as I have another 5 to service

The historic vehicle community, its events, freedoms to use the roads and even the fuel we use, are under increasing threats and pressures amidst a changing landscape of political and environmental influences. If we are to defend the use of historic vehicles, then we need to act and act now. The Federation needs your help. The FBHVC is in the process of carrying out its 2020 National Historic Vehicle Survey, an update to a similar survey undertaken in 2016. If we are to represent the case for historic vehicles in the best possible way we need to have up to date information about the movement and how important the movement is to the economy, particularly in current COVID-19 circumstances. Yes so far, i cant remember when it went up. i walk pass every time I go to the shops, I have seen one between Hull and the next village as well, there are more figures on that, next time down will try and see if its still there
