  3. :-D, Nah,............ :-) just done a road run,.......around 75miles, and changing down is easier, now, ......think I've got the habit; As everyone's said, its relaxing and taking one's time.......Oh, MW also crawls along quite nicely in top, the Bedford six is a smooth bit o kit........... ;-)

I'm (reasonably) Ok when going up in the box,........well, once everythings warmed up, anyways,.......... :whistle:...............but, coming back down,.......ummmm, not so (crunch) good;............yup, heard the way to do it, read the theory, understand it, as well, (which is slightly worrying,...........) but slient down change ??...........Err, NO. Still, gives me more reasons to go driving the MW, ...........I guess. :-D Andy

Aye, looks a good read, this month,...........my father grabbed my copy, when it fell through the door,.........he'd seen there was an article on DUKW's, .....he was a driving instructor on them, based in wales, during the 40's; and still keeps a fondness for them, which is great. :-) Definatly, the next vehicle, I'd buy,.............if the premium bond came up;........ :whistle: Andy

Thats a great looking machine,.................sidecar outfits are GREAT; :-) esp those with driven sidecar wheel, 3x2............ :-D Had the loan of the russian version,..........amazing where it would go, only really getting caught out when the ruts became too deep and the cylinders 'hung up',....still, it was then into REVERSE,..................now, that caused some amazement........... :whistle: From a fellow sj413 owner,...............   16. Only trouble is, that stretch of water, ..(I've heard it refered to as the most expensive sea crossing)...........what sort of costs are we talking about, for an MW sized vehicle, ? Ok, I can understand the point of having 'attractions', in said lakes, esp if they could be used for diver rescue training,...that is, divers rescuing trapped vehicle occupants,.......(I was involved in cave rescue a few years ago) however according to press release, these vehicles were 'sealed', to stop entry; I'm was not knocking the idea,just trying to understand the reasoning behind it. :-) Not being a diver myself, i can see swimming around in an 'empty' lake, could be quite boring, :whistle:..........
