Hi everyone ,

D'ont ask how but I got settled (?) in Ireland and you know how it is , almost lost in the humdrum of approaching retirement, when I as usual make myself useful to anyone who needs help (and can put up with the natter).

So that storm Ophelia , done some knocking and I found myself at a farm helping to get stanbypower going.

Wow imagine my surprise when I found he had a 27.5Kva Meadows generator. But horror I failed to bringback my 'thoughts and actions' to enable me help get the power going.  Started beautifully but naff all to macht de licht  (spelling?). Its been a while :<   so I was hoping to find some printed material that would help an old 'heavy' get it sorted. Or maybe some one can point me in the right direction. Sure would brighten up my winter  ; >  .

take care

Perry

Have yet to do a good look over, bad weather still and lousy light. But so far I have established that it needs some TLC. What he is missing is 240 (AC) and it looks like the 3 phase option is long gone.  Have not got in ( need better light ) to see about slip rings /commutator .  My memory may need refreshing but seeing it again in better conditions next time will help. That exciter generator  ??? was that on top, about the size of a descent motor?  Or am I thinking of something else/ Should be able to get in etc tomorrow and hopefully get back then.

Thanks

Noot got very  far . Between relocating it etc etc and weather is doing us no favours. Might be spring before anything substantial is done, when at least if we uncover it we can leave it so for some short time while we examine it more.
