Continental Y91 engine

Recommended Posts

Hello I've recently obtained a Continental Y91 four cylinder side valve engine in great condition which was going to be scrapped as no-one wanted it. The engine is painted olive drab but the only thing google can tell me it was used on was a 1950's tractor, does any one know if they were used to power generators or compressors in the military?

Cheers

Onan used them on their larger generators. We had a WWII unit that was virtually rusted out, was able to get handbook etc from the 'States, have also got a distributor here somewhere that we picked up in Perth, Oz a few years back before we realised how bad it was internally.

Hi

I have two 12.5 KVA generators both fitted with the FS-162 continental red seal engines and both are very smooth running engines, both are ex military generators.
