  1. In the words of Spike Milligan.... enter a fresh lunatic 13 to go
  2. If its the R103/103A as oppossed to the R103(CDN) then I'm after the same infomation, if I find anythig I'll let you know. I intend to go and see Ben Knock at some point to measure up the case as my set has had it replaced at some point by a decidely home made affair, if he has any further info I'll let you know. PT
  3. I had a conversation about this with Louis Meulstee some years ago when I was working on the IWMs Dorchester ACV, he suggested RG-213U 50 Ohm coax as being close enough electrically and a good cosmetic mach. PT
  4. There's a bunch of dog bones on Ebay at the moment Kevin PT
  5. Having had a second look it appears, if you zoom in enough, that its a strip with a center pivot on the circle and there are what appear to be markings around the edge of the circle, so bearing indicator to monitor the progress or drift of incoming craft? PT
  6. Good point, is it a visual "traffic light" sort of signal for incoming landing craft, set it to the correct colour and flip it vertical? PT
  7. I'm looking for an oil can carrier, the vent panel from the inside of the radio body door, the internal trim of the round cable doors, and the support brackets and fittings for the FV pattern air filter, Radio body door window, Can you help with any of these? PT
  8. The connectors were made by Belling Lee, and turn up on Epay occasionally. I may have one spare soon, if so are you interested? PT
  9. I think you are right a quick scan of the internet suggests that the engine cowling of a Whitley does not appear above the wing from this angle, just the prop blades. Also horse boxes often have expanding folding "gates" that extend to the side of the ramp, perhaps these have been covered to form a sort of screen, either for weather protection or security. With the ramp propped up at is end to keep it level, the appearance would be very similar to the photo. PT
  10. Is it possible that the vehicle behind is a tractor? that would explain the lack of bonnet side panels and also a tractor may take up far less room than a lorry. PT
  11. Very sad to see this, Ive loved the discussions and insights this thread has provided. Please BlueBelle keep us up to date with the progress of your book.
  12. Cant say I have either, but I like it
  13. Nice to see it John. I remember this as an operating recovery truck at Dixons yard near Hunsdon when I was a kid, I'm so glad it has made it into preservation. My dad drove Diamond T's for a bit during the war and every time we drove past the yard it would trigger a few "I remember when " moments. PT
  14. It is a 6 x 4 flat bed reader AustiChamp1952, are you interested?
  15. We are having a clear-out at work and I have a microfiche reader going spare, it seems a shame to scrap it, anyone interested? PT
  16. A friend of mine has just come across this, apparently its an old radar truck that was converted to an apple picker. I suspect it may possibly of started life as a trailer and had the powered front end added. Your collective thoughts please Ladies and Gentlemen. PT
  17. Yes please!!!! been waiting with baited breath for this thread to get going again after the hiatus of the change over
  18. Toby's Snatch is long gone to a new owner, so is mine. However I think I still have a copy of the wiring diagram somewhere if that's of any help. My experience of the wiring on these vehicles is that it has been much "modified" over time to keep them running in the field. If you want to, PM me and I'll see if I can help. PT
  19. Out of interest my post above was also a bit of an experiment as the pictures were posted into the thread straight from the clip board of my computer, wasnt sure it would work but it seems fine, and again is much more straight forward than before. PT
  20. Johan use the new posts tab, top left as long as you are logged in, . My preference is to select "condensed" for the topics display top right of the list, To get to the last unread post, a handy feature that was not available on the old format, click on the circle (or star if you have already commented on that topic). and there you are. Can I just say that like most people I hate change, especially for the sake of change, but in this case it appears to have been highly necessary to keep the HMVF as a going concern. Its taken me a while to find my way round the new format but its beginning to become second nature now so I'm starting to look forward again to my morning dose of latest posts. I know how much work goes in to setting up a new system and how much effort is not apparent to the end user so congratulations on getting it all up and running to Joris and all. PT
  21. To be honest I'm not absolutely certain but the stowage Diags for the LP version are the only ones to show it. The HP version only had one 19 set fitted, against the LP's 2, so would probably not need to carry as many spare batteries. PT
  22. the box was sunk into the floor at the back , don't know what it was used for . its very rusty so a new one has to be made which isn't a problem . Doug, looking good. there was a box set into the floor in the rear compartment of the LP version for the storage of spare batteries, it was imediately to the rear of the back axle, not sure where yours is but it may help to define what version of ACV it was originally.
  23. I am looking to buy a replica .50 cal to mount on an AA ring mount, does anyone have any suggestions as to good sources or, perhaps ones to avoid? Thanks in anticipation PT
  24. Sorry to hear that Neil, I know its not in the same league but my neighbor is selling his sons KA for £300 if that helps to get you mobile?
  25. I'm fairly sure that all the boxes are the same size and its just perspective and the colour that makes it look bigger. PT
