  1. Have more of these numbers in the Key Cards, will check tomorrow, they must have been replacement frames. Cheers, Lex

Rone, leave some patina, as we did on the C, part of the history! Lex
  3. Better read the whole story John. Cheers, Lex
  4. Well, the 6th REME Workshop plate might have been on a bike, after a rebuild, but the other plate is more from a generator I think. Cheers, Lex

Hi there Steve, Here a schematic from the Smiths factory, hope that helps, have added the sizes in fractions, but don't think you'll find any taps and dies for that. Could you please give me the number of teeth on both gears? and the outside diameter of both, doesn't have to be exact, it's just that I'm mapping out all different gears for all WD bikes. Lex

Yes, had seen it already in email form, but here it's much better! Thanks! Lex

Ok, well, you never know, Leon said at the time it was prewar, but I thought maybe they used up some left over spares! Cheers, Lex

Ron, this probably wouldn't be a brake plate for the WB30? Cheers, Lex
  9. I'll be there, not missed a year since 1984! well that's a lie, as I only used to go every 5 years in the beginning, but the last 20 years I've been there, even in 2020 and 2021. Will take the G3WO again this year. Cheers, Lex

Good show, it finally worked out! you owe me a ride on it when finished! That rear frame looks very much like early Matchless G3L! Cheers, Lex
  11. It's listed in one of the "Warpaint" volumes, but not sure if they can still be found? OK, had a look, it's more about wartime vehicles, will add it here. Cheers, Lex
  12. Haha Jan, I know all that, but Arthur wasn't on the the Beach in 1944. Lex
  13. Nice one! Here a better shot of the James, and the article turned the right way. Plus some more Normandy pictures, seems the Commando's used quite a few of them, but also the Canadian troops. And even the wartime correspondents got it wrong back then! Cheers, Lex PS, I have partly restored wartime James ML for sale if anyone needs one.
  14. Well, top picture is a Welbike, and bottom one is a James ML. (that is, if you turn it around) Cheers, Lex
  15. Thanks Ron, I know, but Jan is looking for a continental supplier I guess, Johan @ The Matchless shop will have them, or any of the other Dutch dealers. Lex
  16. Gewoon 5/16" x 26, BSC draad, denk ik? Cheers, Lex
  17. OK, Thanks Jan, and Ron, order me 2 please when you next order something from them. Cheers, Lex
  18. The little springs for the toggly bits. Good show on the box. Lex
  19. Did the package finally arrive Ron? How about the springs? I seem to have lost one! Lex
  20. Superb pictures!!! the P&M's are late war models, 1918, as can be seen from the handlebars, that are quite wide, and late type footrests, earlier ones had footboards. Also nice to see the spare tube box fitted, I fitted mine on the other side though, but mine is much earlier. Cheers, Lex
  21. Personally I like the Canadian canvas more, it's more like the colour on my NOS grips. Lex
  22. Kostas, I just found these sketches in my PC, but Triumph would have had much longer canvas. Maybe Ron knows? Lex
  23. That was a while ago! but I will see if I have any left over from that restoration, also note, that only bikes between appx. 1942 and 1944 had brass crimped rings, after that is was just crimped tin, that was painted brown or green. Lex
