Sylvester
Hi Folks, Just wondering if anyone has a list of post-war oil to Civilian equivalents, ie OMD 75 = Castrol GTX ? I use to have a list but gave it away with my first ferret! Now gone back to another Ferret and just want to know what I need to buy! Cheers Mates Fred
fv1609
Fred some of the more common ones are on here: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?445-British-Military-Oils-and-Lubricants
Starfire
For the Ferret, you will need: OMD 110 - Use a straight 30W or 10W30 engine oil. OEP 220 - Use a straight 90W gear oil or an 85W90. OM13 - Use either an ISO 10 hydraulic fluid or automatic transmission fluid (Only in the flywheel, do not use ATF in the brake system of a Saracen!). Wolfgar
Do you know what I can use in Daimler Dingo as "M160"? I found info that is equivalent to Shell S.7472 but internet is empty. Can't find any info about that.
Lauren Child
Not sure about M160, but if it's in the context of oil, OM160 (Oil, Mineral, 160) is SAE 75 plain mineral oil. see below. Edited March 28, 2017 by Lauren Child
Lauren Child
I've just found an older reference to M160 (from 1945) which is specification CS1298, which had been replaced (at that time) with OE-30-HD (engine oil, 30HD). Sorry about the previous incorrect info. Edited March 28, 2017 by Lauren Child
