REME 245
Does anyone know what happened to my old Mk2/2. I brought it from Preston Isaac's as an empty hull and subssquently sold it to Clive Hughes unrestored when I was made redundant. Under the paint were full 43rd Wessex Division Royal Wiltshire Yeomanary markings and the vehicle subsequently featured in an article in the now defunct MV Magazine. The Royal Wiltshire Yeomanary employed at least two vehicles of this mark both pre 67 and afterwards when they became A Squadron of the Royal Yeromanary. sirhc
What was the military reg number? There was a 2/2 restored in Kent a few years ago. I met a guy at Beltring who used to crew them, in Malaya I think. He had a photo album with him which was very interesting. We introduced him to the guy who was restoring the 2/2 and it turned out to be the same Ferret that he used to crew. I'll dig out a photo when I get home. REME 245
All the information and pictures I had went with the vehicle so I cannot recall the number. The only remaining picture I have is this one.

As this mark is a VERY rare example on the collecting circuit. I personaly have only seen one example. This BELONGED to a chap named barry Unthank. Barry did a heck of a lot of work on it & had it for a number of years. He subsequently sold it to Pete Green. (X MOD) Pete had it up for sale & I belive sold it on. You would have to talk to Pete to find out where it went 7 to whom he sold it. mike. :coffee:
sirhc
This is the one Barry had. There was another one, painted green and black, which was exported to the US. One of the guys on the Ferret Heaven list had it and wanted to cut the collar off to turn it back to a 2/3! Chris
