Question

Hiya,

Ive got this forklift, and all i know about it is the following:

It was used in the RAF, to load the V-Bombers.

Its a Coventry Climax Diesel

It was made in 1956 and is F (1st time round), this must be when the MOD released her. since then it has done farm work.

My questions are what have i got here, whats the history of her, and out of interest what's an approximate value, want to know if i got a Bargain.

Here are some Pics:

He edited his message after I pointed it out to him!

It did say:

The forklift itself is made by the same company who made the engine.

CCE is probably Coventry Climax Engines Ltd, who were I believe taken over by British leyland in 1955.

Dinky Toys had a model almost identical to yours, although the Dinky one looks as though it could be a larger capacity version.

As to the value.......... who knows...... but they must be pretty rare now, bearing in mind that they are heavy lumps, and scrap does tend to reach silly prices now and then. I would be happy to pay about eight hundred notes for one in running order, but they could be worth a lot more depending on the condition.

I hope this is of some help to you...Will. :)

Possibly not that much less than a mint Dinky one with the box? :n00b:
