mel6644 Posted August 1, 2012 Share Posted August 1, 2012 I had a 1986 blazer for 6 years and it was one of the best trucks i ever had, the 6.2 engine and 3 speed gear box are bomb proof, stay away from the 4 speed, if you know were to look you will pick up a back axle pretty cheap, the blazer and pickup axles are different, check that its a military blazer, the early ones were civvy painted green 12 volt, the later army ones were 24 volt with full military spec, a powerful comfortable reliable and economic military vehicle, when i think about my old blazer it brings a tear to me eye, good luck mel.
