Shuttleworth Collection Visit 10/05/09

I missed the Wheels & Wings show at Elvington last weekend because of a wedding in Cambridge. This did mean however, that I was close to Old Warden which allowed me to visit the Shuttleworth Collection. There also hapened to be a model aircraft event there on Sunday.

 

At the end of the event, a friend returned in his vintage Miles Magister, accompanied by two Ryan PT22's. Photo's of the day are below.

Some good pics of the aircraft, hopefully next time you'll see Peter's toys a bit more complete. I missed the scale BR2 unfortunatly its always fun recovering the aircraft to the airfield, during a model show I remember having to chase down the main runway doing a FOD check while the Bristol Fighter buzzed me at about 20 feet.:-D Will be ground crewing tomorrow evening but I don't think the weather wants to play fair.

I wonder, do midair collissions between model plane happen often?

Yes!! Depends how good or bad you are! Accidental mid-airs happen usually when there's only two planes in the sky, yet if you deliberately try to get close, it's very hard.
