This is wrong it was to squirt dispersant to get rid of the foam. I remember seeing a documentary on EOD & the ATO, who was probably in a pram when this was in service, seemed to think it was for firing foam. Quite what he thought all the nonsense at the front was for I don't know. It was a pity that the article in the mag couldn't have used it as a prompt for a mini-description of the modus operandi of the thing.
