Robert Farrant Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 I have been trawling through my old photos and came up with these picture of US trucks returning to Germany after an exercise in UK. Can't be sure of the date, but I think it was the late '70's Quote
les freathy Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 I think you are about right on the date Bob you gave me a couple of the shots you took, It seems a life time away when that old A20 by pass ran into the roundabout and then swung round to the left all now swamped by the M20 and tescos did you take any other shots Quote
Lord Burley Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Richard.Anymore pics from this exercise? Quote
Richard Farrant Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Richard. Anymore pics from this exercise? Mark, That is my brother, Robert who posted those photos. He has just joined, I knew it would cause confusion :-D Quote
snowtracdave Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I remember seeing very similar vehicles heading down to Fingringhoe Ranges & the time period would be about right . Quote
Robert Farrant Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 Richard.Anymore pics from this exercise? I think there are 3 or 4 more shots from that convoy, I will try and post them at the weekend. Robert Quote
Robert Farrant Posted January 31, 2009 Author Posted January 31, 2009 Mark, as promised I have found the rest of the pictures taken of the convoy, unfortunately a lot are of poor quality, difficult to focus on moving vehicles, but I have found four more for you to see. Quote
schliesser92 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Oh, some German snuck in there - the Mog radio van! The date would be right as the US vehicles are in MERDC camoflague, and the Mog in Bundeswehr "Gelb-Oliv". It appears to be an engineer unit, as the first pic shows a dump truck, with the bumper-code suggesting that it belonged to the 70th Engineer Bn . Quote
