We were told they werent popular,and used mainly as back up.also they werent as efficient on steam.They were the first steam turbines to be put to this type of use. Well spotted !:-D :bow::bow::bow: At the Workshops, years ago, we had a Climax Rock Drill trailer mounted compressor with one of the Meadows 6DC engine in it, the output was enormous. I thought at the time, as we used to get a lot of Explorers in for repair, that it would go well in one. Also had a lot to do with the four cylinder version in the 27.5 kva gen set, had to hand crank those as there was never any air in the starting system.
