Ian L
The light switch on my Norton has just jammed on & wont turn off, is this a known fault & is it possible to dismantle the switch & repair ? Does anyone know where I can get either a replica or original ? OFF, T, L, H. I have it wired. T : Tail / convoy. L : Side lights front & rear. H : headlights, & have a dip switch on the handle bars. Chris Hall
These switches are quite robust. Take it out and have a look at what's going on. It could be an easy repair, especially if you can salvage parts from a cracked switch.
Ron
I'm not desperate to part with it, but I might have a spare one to sell if you get stuck. Ron

Ron Thank Ron, do these switch's come apart easily or is there a knack before I start disassembling it ? I suspect that there's springs, plungers & ball bearing in there waiting to jump out & never to be found again ?
Ron
It probably just needs some lube. Try a squirt of WD40 first then see if you can work the switch. Ron
Chris Hall
Thank Ron, do these switch's come apart easily or is there a knack before I start disassembling it ? I suspect that there's springs, plungers & ball bearing in there waiting to jump out & never to be found again ? nothing that complicated. It's literally a cam roller, some screws for contacts and a rocker with Spring. Nothing to it.
Ron
And in the picture of your switch, it looks like you might have a three position switch knob fitted as it doesn't seem to line up with the 'H' ? Ron
