Jack
Front page folks and please note: If all goes as scheduled this time, Glacier Girl will arrive June 29 in Duxford, England, where it will be displayed with other classic planes at next month's Flying Legends Air Show. The plane is one of just three P-38s still in flying condition
berni
what a lovely story, pity i haven't got any days holiday left as it would be good to sit & wait at Duxford for her to land. history in the making, Berni

Richard Farrant
Bad news regarding the P38 Lightning flying to Duxford, the team has had to abort the trip. On route from Goose Bay to Greenland, one engine was noted to be pressurising the coolant, they were 3 hours out and returned to Goose Bay. apparently it requires a replacement engine. The P51 Mustang, "Miss Velma", which was accompanying the P38, is still on its way to Duxford with the support plane. I think they are now in Iceland, next stop Stornaway, then Duxford, unless weather changes things. UPDATE "Miss Velma" has landed at Wick airport in North of scotland, on Sat afternoon, depending on weather, next stop Duxford.
